It's Almost Tueday - What's On Your New Release List

Okay, well it goes without saying that probably 95% of the members here are buying Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

But what other titles are on your list for New Release Tuesday (lets abbreviate it N.R.T.)

I know I'm also picking up Cats & Dogs. We haven't seen it yet but it looks fun and my niece and nephew will probably enjoy it when they come over.

I was also thinking about Angel Eyes with Jennifer Lopez, but I may get that one as a rental first. Unless somebody can tell me otherwise.

So what's on all of your lists for N.R.T.?

I'm waiting on 6 November for Sopranos Season II and Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Then on 13 November, we get Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and X-Files Season 4, then I'll be buying at least 1 DVD every week from there on it (Scary Movie II, Pearl Harbor, Jurassic Part III, Moulin Rouge)

I guess I'm in the other five percent.

My only new pick-up this week is Columbia's latest Three Stooges release.

SW aside, I'm picking up the Superbit version of CTHD, which is on sale this week at BB for $19.99 (regularly $22.99). Got burned on one Jennifer Lopez movie, not going to happen on a second.

Cats & Dogs? Wasn't that supposed to be one of the titles we're all outraged about and boycotting to punish Warners because it's P&S only? Under the circumstances, I'd stick with a rental.

Still, it's up to you if you want it.

Personally, I've imposed a moratorium on DVD purchases until December. I don't even have time to watch the discs I already have.

I'm alos in that 5% who'd rather have a root canal than acutally spend money on "Pahntom Menace". Not that it was really that bad, but there's tonsof other things more worth buying. I think it's funny that there are people running around completely obsessed with the little people inside George Lucas' head. Really really huge Star Wars fans are kind of pathetic when you think about it.

Anyway, I'll be opting for the Criterion release of "Notorious", one of my favorite Hitchcock films! I wanted to get "Häxan" (for those who don't know, it's pronounced like "Haekzan"), but I figured I'd just wait, as there were a ton of other tings I was getting.

Thanx,
Brook

Warner changed their original P&S only plans to both P&S and WS. Still, I have no interest in this flick.

I guess I'm the only one, but I'm really excited about getting "Toys". I'm still undecided about Star Wars....I don't think I'll know until I'm at the regiester.

Hopefully picking up Star Wars tomorrow. I'm not even a star wars fan, but all of the reviews saying how great the documentaries are swayed me.

This may be a silly question, but it probably won't be a problem picking this up at Best Buy tomorrow after school right? As in, it probably won't sell out? Once again, probably a silly question, but I haven't been keeping track of how huge preorders were.

My favourite movie. I've been waiting for this to come onto DVD since 1998. Tuesday October 16th will be a great day. Of course I'll pick up The Phantom Menace also, but I'll watch TOYS first.

Naw, I doubt it'll sell out, but it may depend on where you live. I don't know what's around you, but I'm sure Star Wars will be EVERYWHERE. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, 7-11's, in the vending machines at your office. . .If BestBuy is out, just try another spot (if there's something else around you).

Wow, I don't see anyone mentioning Willow. Am I the only one really looking forward to that release next month?! =)

With Goonies and Willow, my classic 80s films collection is continuing to build (I would still like some cool DVD releases of BTTF and Ferris Bueller. Well, the Indy trilogy would be nice too..)

Well, I don't think they're going to put out a better DVD version of Ferris Bueller than the one that already exists. It has a John Hughes commentary and it looks and sounds great. The BTTF films are on their way with some nice extras: deleted scenes, interviews with the cast and crew, etc. The Indiana Jones trilogy is the only big series without any representation on our favorite format.

Today was a good DVD day for me! I got Star Wars as planned (still, 60% because of how great people are saying the documentaries are), and a surprise, the Suspiria Limited Edition as an early birthday giftiftiftiftift (not a typo, I meant to type it like that, don't ask me why). Ooooooh yeaah. I only saw this flick for the first time 3 nights ago, and it is just fancy.

I got the same thing as everyone else, The Phantom Menace, which is freaking awesome to say the least! I went through all the deleted scenes, a couple of the documentaries, but there's still alot of material I have to go through, and needless to say, I am greatly impressed. I also like the couple of scenes added into the film itself. The next DVD I buy will probably be Planet of the Apes on November 20, which looks to be awesome as well.

I bought Star Wars today too. I wasn't planning on buying it, but I went to Best Buy this afternoon to check out the new releases, and there it was. Couldn't resist.

The making of doc on the second disc (the 600 hours one) is really really good .
