VOTE for the movie with the most GORE.....
VOTE for your movie for most GORE right here. I like to watch movies with a lot of gore, mainly because we try to put so much editing and try to make movies now that are viewable in todays standards. To me, there's nothing like a cheap 80's horror flick to stay up late at night and watch it with a babe or a group of friends (or alone) and get the creeps scared out of you.
I just watched the movie MANIAC and found it to be pretty damn good, considering I wasn't expecting much. It had plenty of gore (and by gore I mean actual heads flying and body parts chopped off, stuff like that, none of that edited stuff like what I heard about the Friday the 13th movies, which are unedited on laser disc or something like that.)Correct me if I'm wrong. I also see Dead-Alive at the top of many Gory lists...but all I see is a lot of blood flying and nothing else, I don't consider that gore. But I guess I got the rated version. Someone let me know if more is shown in the unrated version. So vote here for some GORY movies, maybe we can hear about some that we haven't heard of before so we can go out and rent them and have a good time!!!! Thanks CV |

Hmmmm. . .I'd have to go with CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST or CANNIBAL FEROX (aka, "Make Them Die Slowly") as my choices.

My answer to this kind of question is always Braindead aka Dead alive. I guess most of the reason I like it is because it is so damn funny as well, most "serious" horror/gore movies I've seen have usually been a bit boring, because they completely fall through when something doesn't make sense or look to fake. With Braindead I don't have to think about that.
A second for me would probably have to be Let sleeping corpses lie, although that is a bit on the boring side as well. Oh, and I ordered Maniac yesterday from Amazon, sight unseen. Maybe I'll get another contender for first place, not that there is much competition, meaning that I usually don't seek out a lot of this stuff actively (Too many disappointments) |

Braindead is the goriest along with Riki Oh: The Story of Ricky. I'm not sure what charm you find in Maniac, to me, it's boring and extremely poorly made. The reason it keeps being released on DVD over and over (a 2 disc tin with that droning soundtrack as an extra?), is because Bill Lustig directed it, and he runs Anchor Bay. For pure mayhem and onscreen death, Battle Royale is hard to top.

I thought MANIAC was a good movie, and I really didn't find it too boring. Actually, I was glued to the screen. Maybe if I saw it again it would be boring.(or maybe not). I think they could have did more in the story about his childhood, but if you look at other horror movies about serial killers, I think its pretty good. A movie like this would never be released today without being highly edited. When a movie gets so many bad reviews about how grotesque and unethical it is, then it is my type of movie.
As for dead-alive, i didn't find it all i was expecting but like i said earlier, maybe its because i had an edited version because i don't remember too much gore in that one.(besides blood flying) And I heard about Battle Royale (and it sounds pretty good) but I can't play different regions on my dvd player, Do you guys have ones that play other regions?? Hey DISCO STU, U know where can I get a version of Battle Royale on VHS or region 1. Thanks for your input so far everyone, I haven't seen a couple of these.... |

Battle Royale is not Gory. It is hard Thriller with a high Bodycount. What the film make's very interesting, is the "Child kills Child"-Topic. My favourites of "Hihg-Gore" are Braindead aka Dead Alive Bad Taste Dawn of the Dead Day of the Dead Story of Ricky Versus The Guinea Pig Serie (very sick) Men behind the Sun (also very sick) Evil Dead |

In terms of Battle Royale, yes I have an all-region DVD player, but I believe a cloned (from the Region 3 I have) all-region DVD was just released. Take a look on ebay. http://search.ebay.com/search/search...ty=MetaEndSort ------------------ Arrogance is bliss I have better taste than you |

For me, I would have to pick two movies that to me are the goriest:
"Bram Stoker's Dracula" (the 1992 version with Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, and Gary Oldman) "The Shining" (the original 1980 version) ------------------ "The Force is strong with this one." |

Dead Alive is the obvious one but I'll throw in Terror Firmer.

Although my vote for goriest (but not necessarily most horrifying or scariest) movie just happens to be my favourite movie, I assure you that I'm not being biased when I say that the ORIGINAL "Evil Dead" (Part 1) is the goriest film that I have ever seen.
Anything that includes scenes of pencils being stabbed into achilles heels, violent facial and leg scratching, wrist sliting, the chewing off of a hand, full blown explicit bodily dismemberment (possibly the goriest scene in any movie), impaling by way of a sword, milk vomiting, decapitation by way of a shovel, eye gouging, bloody hand squishing, full bodily decomposition not to mention LOTS and LOTS of blood throughout definitely gets my vote for "the movie with the most gore" (hey, I had to justify my vote, right?) BTW, "Dawn of the Dead" gets second place on my list. |

I definately gotta agree here. The Evil Dead is indeed gory as all hell, and takes the cake for me too. Just reading that list of grotesque scenes makes me wanna see this horror classic again.. and again... and again. And maybe another time after that. Followed by another viewing the next day. ------------------ http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollect...?alias=Savopie |

but gore-wise nothing will ever make it up to BRAINDEADwell, nothing but this stupid japanese crap called GUINEA PIG of course. but GP doesn´t really count because it can´t be considered to be a real movie since there is NO plot at all. at least not if you expect a plot to go beyond the sicko hacks woman into peaces kinda thing... Yeah, Guinea Pig: Chiniku no hana may not be a real movie but a nasty little short film which delivers the ultimate in on-screen gore and violence. Anybody who's interested in special make-up FX, has to check it out. It's a brilliant showcase for those Japanese make-up artists. The FX used in GP are second to none. Later, ILSA |
