Hmmm...

Favorite wait that will soon be over:
- The Matrix

Other stuff:
- Sunset Boulevard
- North by Northwest
- Rear Window
- Lost Highway
- Indiana Jones Trilogy (and some of the chronicles too)
- Jim Henson's The Storyteller
- Some favorite X-Files episodes
- Jabberwocky (just to complete it all...)
- Meet the Feebles
- Heavenly Creatures
- maybe even Braindead (no, not Dead Alive)

- and lots more...

Already released stuff that I want to see done better (collector's editions etc.):
- The Fisher King, CE
- Adventures of Baron Munchhausen, CE
- The Nightmare Before Christmas, CE
- The Usual Suspects
- Batman, CE
- Se7en (Nah, don't really care)
- Brazil (I WANT MORE! (just kidding )

Disney Stuff:
- Fantasia
- Fantasia 2000 - when it's done.

Flame invite:

- Nope, folks. Absolutely NO Star Wars. I might buy it if it were cheap and stuffed with extra features, otherwise, I don't give much for it...

Well, the only DVDs i'm waiting for is the Back to the Future trilogy. I expect them to be released full of extras.

And a couple of DVDs with the best of Seinfeld would be nice too. What do you think ?

Kolin: Yeah, Bernard Rose is good and "Paperhouse" is definitely an over-looked film.

Brad: How could I have forgotten "Nightbreed"?!? I second you on that one, as well as "Pacific Heights"

Jack: Thankfully, "The Goonies" should be out before Christmas

I guess the point of the MOST WANTED DVD LIST is that it's NEVER complete and always grows... a perenial work in progress if you will. Still, even though we all own some great DVDs...and there are even more confirmed to be on the way shortly... it's interesting to see just how many sought-after titles have yet to even be officially mentioned on the format.

One thing is for sure... I'll be buying DVDs in bunches for the next few years.

Well I think most of what I would want has been covered but I would like several disc's redone:
Fargo SE
A Taxi Driver SE that combines all the features that have been put out, especially Scorsese's commentary
Raging Bull SE
Midnight Cowboy SE
Kubrick SE's
Malick SE's

The two new things that I don't think anybody has posted that I would love to have are:
More Kurosawa DVD's (Rashomon, Ikiru, and Throne of Blood especially)
Miyazaki DVD's especially My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service, but since these would be release by Buena Vista I know they're going to suck and be ultra expensive.

Phibes

Abominable Dr. Phibes/Dr. Phibes Rises Again (double feature SE, widescreen only! no pan&crap)[obviously]
All the other Vincent Price AIP Poe series in widescreen double feature discs.
Witchfinder General (UK score)
Ruling Class (Peter O'Toole-commentary by him would be nice)
Stunt Man SE (coming someday???)
Haunting (1963) SE
I also agree with everyone else's lists. Cheers.

Something that I would really look forward to would be the entire Simpson's series. All cramed on as few disks as possible, I don't want no damn 2 episodes per disk crap. And including all of the shorts.

Amen, chamfer. A one-deal disc set (whether it's a box-set or a 2-3 DVD-18s) that includes ALL of "The Simpsons" episodes plus supplemntal material MUST be made!! That would be amazing. Also, I would like a DVD port of the cool Complete Tex Avery Collection that came out on laserdisc a couple years back. We need that too!

Actually, forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I vaguely remember reading an interview with Matt Groening about a year or so ago. In it, he was asked about the future of The Simpsons and how long he thinks it will last. Basically, he said the show will go on for as long as both he and FOX believe it still has life and after its TV run he believes they will make one theatrical motion picture and be done with it.

If this is the case, what better time would there be to release the DEFINITIVE collection of "The Simpsons"?

Speaking of foreign films on DVD... have I mentioned how VERY happy I am that both "Yojimbo" and its sequel ("Sanjuro") will be out via the Criterion Collection in just a few weeks!?

That makes 5 Kurosawa films on DVD. Just a small portion, but its growing (and its MUCH more substantial than the likes of, ahem!, other prolific filmmakers)

Well, I concur of course on

• The Godfather Trilogy
• Blade Runner (mixing the original and the director's cut and letting you choose, and with a lot of extras!)
• The STAR WARS trilogy

But, come on, there is nobody out there who wants to watch on DVD the best action flick of all times (with permission of ALIENS)?

POINT BREAK!

Kathryn Bigelow is well on par with her ex-hubby on that adrenaline-shot of a film.

3) E.T.
4) Short Circuit (been dying to see this movie in something other than anamorphic-VHS-without-the-widescreen *grin*)

Oh why not, here we go again. I'll only list movies that aren't confirmed as being in production here.

Braveheart!!!!!!
Forrest Gump
Clue
Noises Off
Edward Scissorhands
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
The Gods Must be Crazy I & II
Animals are Beautiful People
The Wizard of Speed and Time
The Terminator (restored, remastered)
Pee-Wee's Big Adjenture
Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind
Jurassic Park
The Princess Bride
Willow
Star Wars Saga
Indiana Jones and the et cetera
Star Trek I-VI boxed set (all anamorphic)
Never Cry Wolf

And some TV
(all desired complete, in chronological order)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
The Tick
The Simpsons
Futurama
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Some of those a bit obscure, but hey, my wish came true with Return to Oz, didn't it? So I can hope.
