LASERDISCS

Anyone know the last laserdisc ever pressed?
Who'd ever thought I'd be saying this...

------------------
"I'm somewhere where I don't know where I am"

Popular opinion is Paramount's BRINGING OUT THE DEAD (which is often considered to be a humorously ironic title for the end of LaserDisc), but I don't have the ability to confirm that one way or another...

------------------
Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part...

A curious mix of the best and worst in motion picture entertainment--that's right, it's Filmmaker's DVDTracker list!
...and the fun doesn't stop there--check out how the madness all began with Filmmaker's LaserDisc Tracker list!

good sources of mine said that The Beach was the last movie to ever be released on laserdisc. what a terrible choice to last be emblazed on laserdisc.

Episode 1 came out after those did. But I guess we are assuming he meant domestic. I think they may still be producing LDs in Japan.

I have Bringing Out the Dead on LD, BTW.

Hold on to those laser discs and the laser disc players.

There is a future in this technology.

Maybe not today but in the future they will prove to be valuable

I have fight club on LaserDisc. You can get U-571, Sixth Sense and the Cell.

Hi,

I TOTALLY agree about holding on to your laserdiscs...especially the Warner older titles. They seem to have no interest in releasing any of them like: Them, The Hammer Dracula/Frankenstein movies, Valley of Gwangi, The funny Streisand films, ...and on and on. I have been grabbing anything I can. It is a great format, but we all know not as popular or universal as dvd. Some titles are going for horrific prices on ebay. Think of them as old 33 record albums for those of you old enough to remember them.
The cover are alone is worth saving them for. I have been getting some titles at dvd planet for $2 & $4!! Hold on to those babies!!!

Have a great day!

Chris

I have at least $3000 or more invested in laserdiscs (not including box sets) I'll never let go of that AMADEUS SE, what were they thinking putting that on DVD all crappy like that? I also take pride in my PLATOON SE LD and the ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST SE LD

Damm, allot of money was spent.
