'squeemish' scenes
Everybody had a scene like this. One that no matter how many times you watch it it still makes you feel sick. What's yours?
Mine... as I am watching it right now... is the Hannibal "brain scene". It's just creepy. ------------------ uglyfish v3.0 my piddly collection |

I have (2) movies that I enjoy, but have scenes that are impossible to watch:
Marathon Man - When Lawrence Olivier brings that drill over and you hear start cutting Dustin Hoffman's teeth - I flip it off. The Fly - when Jeff Goldblum's character pukes acid vomit on that guy's hand and feet. Horrifying. Flip it off at that point. Wimp! ------------------ You know it's spring-time when the executioners start getting in the house - C.T. Robot |

2 come to mind:
Final Destination - One of the kids gets strangulated by a wire in a bathtub...eyes get beat red & can't seem to get his footing to help himself! I had my neck grabbed the whole time durnig that scene! Ticks - This was a cheapy 'B' flick, but when those creepy, crawlys were getting under people's skin...ACK!! |

Heavenly Creatures -- The bludgeoning scene. Also the bludgeoning scene in The Talented Mr. Ripley. And the one in The Gift. Actually, any bludgeoning scene, unless done really unconvincingly.
E.T. that scene where he gets really sick and turns all white. still gives me the willies after 15-20 years... ------------------ deep in the heat of the bush... |

![]() The dead baby in Trainspotting got to me. And the toilet scene. Very disgusting. Clockwork Orange, when Malcolm Macdowell's strapped to a chair and they use these pinchers to keeps his eyelids open. That looked so painful I had to glance away at a certain point. |

The 'needle through Uma's chest' scene in Pulp Fiction. It's one of my favourite movies, but I don't think I've managed even once to not look away during that scene. I HATE NEEDLES!

Gore doesn't really get to me. It's when I think a character does something totally unthinkable that I feel squeamish. Like in Bottle Rocket, when Dignan hits Anthony with a screw driver. Or in The King of Comedy, when Pupkin shows up at Jerry Lewis's character's house with his girlfriend. Or Rosemary's Baby, when Charles Grodin turns Mia Farrow over to the satanists.
But they're still great movies. ------------------ Morphine! What a rascal! |

The Faculty - When The Fish(alien swimming thingamajig in the fishtank) and you can see the inside of the thing gives me the creeps.
Hannibal - Brain Scene ------------------ I bought a pack of gum yesterday - Bubblicious - Watermelon. I know everyone's saying "Hold off, there's gonna be a special edition with remastered flavor and at least it won't be in that awful paper wrapper." But you know what, I figured it's worth it. I mean if it's not that good, I can always auction off the rest of the pack on eBay. And then if Bubblicious revisits the Watermelon gum, I can use the money to re-purchase the upgrade. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Alien's famous "birth" scene. I have to look away when John Hurt starts choking, convulsing and making those sickly sounds before his chest is ripped open...(and then his blood-spattered corpse twitches...brrrr)--a truly memorable meal for the Nostromo crew.
Hannibal's dinner scene--I was dragged by my girlfriend to see the movie when I was delirious from fever, so the evening wasn't very pretty... William Shatner's sex scene with Angie Dickinson in Big Bad Mamma--I really didn't need to see that! |

Misery!!! You have all forgotten when James Caan got both his ankle broken with a sledge hammer by Cathy Bates. Now this reall hurts. If you've forgotten then go rent the movie, you'll not forget it or forgive her either.

Halloween II - the closeup of the needle in Laurie's arm; ewww! The Piano - when Sam Neil chops off Holly Hunter's finger with the axe Deep Red - when the killer rams the detective's mouth into the corner of the table Poltergeist II - when Craig T. Nelson drinks the worm in the tequila bottle Cat O' Nine Tails - the man falls down the elevator shaft and friction-burns his hands |

I have seen most of the aforementioned scenes, but I must say just about the only scene that still makes me queazy every time I watch it is the group barf drinking scene from Bad Taste. I consider myself pretty desensitized to gore shots and "disturbing" scenes in movies, but that sucker *always* makes me shudder. "Ooooh, I got a chunky bit...lucky me!" To anyone who has not seen that film I would recommened it based on that scene alone...well, that and the scene that shows you what happens when you fire a rocket launcher at a sheep.

I couldn't really think of anything that was too bad, but the curb kicking scene I think qualifies. :shudder:
