from dvd.ign.com comes this wicked-awesome super fantastic news!!!

2001-11-30

One of the best HBO series that is no longer around was Mr. Show. It has quite a large cult following who have been demanding a DVD release, so now HBO has listened and the series is on the way to the format.

According to the official Bob and David site, the series will arrive on three sets of discs with ten episodes each. Each disc will be filled with special extras including commentary by Bob, David, and special guests from the episodes.

The first DVD set of Mr. Show with Bob and David will hit stores on February 27th.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I love this news! Great show, I will definately be buying all the episodes. Combine this with the upcoming (eventually, hopefully) Mr. Show movie - Run, Ronnie, Run and I'm I'm happy fella.

I wish I knew what this Mr Show was. But I have never had cable television, so I am uneducated about in this field.
Is Run Ronnie Run supposed to be a spoof of Run Lola Run, or is the title just coincedence/irrelevant?
Perhaps I'll look into this "Mr Show". I wish Hollywood Video rented out disc sets like this. I still want to see The Sopranoes, and others.

Yikes, I'm a little worried that this is a false rumor Marq! I can find no proof of this announcement anywhere at all!? I pray it is the truth but there is no official info anywhere.

I hope it is not false too!
I got it off of the dvd.ign website, and it was their lead story of the day. I realize there seem to be no other sites reporting it, though.

We can just keep our figers crossed I suppose. I was too excited when I first posted to go around verifying it. I don't even know what Bob and David's site is...

Do i ever hope this is true!

PS: UserName: The title of Run, Ronnie, Run is likely just a coincidence, as in all the reports I've read of the movie, no mention of parodying Run Lola Run was made. The film itself is not really a parody, either.

well, that wasn't hard. Bob and David's website is www.bobanddavid.com

Here's what they had to say:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Shit! First Ten episodes of Mr. Show to be released on DVD!!!"
What the fuck? Did hell just freeze over or something?

Yes, but that has nothing to do with the fact that HBO has decided to release ALL the Mr. Shows on DVD. Why now? That's easy, because they own a piece of the movie, and now they realize that we can make a little money for them. Keep in mind, HBO still thinks that you (whoever you may be) are a 16 year old boy who lives in the suburbs, but regardless; The Dvd's will be made available to all.

Here's how "The Man" says it's gonna work. There will be three "sets" of discs, released in waves. Each disc will contain ten episodes. All "sets" will include extras. Tiddlebits ranging from "Behind the Scenes" stuff, to "Best Of Epsiodes", to pieces we did for The Aspen Comedy Festival that were only aired once at 18 in the morning on the HA! Channel. In addition, every show will have a commentary track by Bob and I including, but not limited to, Special Guests and members of the cast and fellow writers.

The first discs are due out on Feb. 27th. It will consist of the four original episodes of "Season" One (The grand experiment) and the six episodes from the second "Season". (Still an experiment at that point) But slightly better wigs. So come on everybody, let's all pitch in and help HBO. They've assured us that nearly all of the proceeds from the sales of the Mr Show Dvd's will go directly to on-set catering for "Sex and The City". I love that show!!!! Did you see the episode where the slutty one wouldn't blow that one guy unless he drank the wheatgrass, and then he did drink the wheatgrass and then she had to blow him to prove a point, and it didn't taste good and then she made a face!! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! It was a funny face she made!

Such is life.
Ciao for now SugarPies,

Bob and David

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, those are some funny guys! This is the only other proof I've found so far, but I like to think it's fairly concrete.
