The 4 for 1 Fox deal?

Did anybody send in their coupons for the buy 4 get 1 free deal? I sent mine in more than 2 months ago and I have heard nothing. My check was already cashed (for shipping and handling). This deal is just like the similar Paramount and Warner/New Line deals, which lets you pick from a list of a few budget titles to get free with your proof of four purchases w/receipts.

To be honest, I didn't even know this promo was going on. I remember raping the system of a bunch of discs the first time around though I don't remember the studio. It was about three years ago. I'll have to go home and check my discs to see what's offered.

The people who work at Fox are not all that bright

I have an update. Yesterday, I got my proof's of purchase, receipts and shipping and handling check sent back to me. They said that I did not include "the correct proof(s) of purchase required for this promotion." ??? The POP's I sent in were for Phantom of the Paradise, Castaway, Die Hard: SE, and Batman: The Movie (1966). The only possible confusion could be that they though I had bought the Burton Batman from 1989 (which is Warner Brothers), but since my receipt specifies which version it is, I don't see that how the misunderstood. They wrote in the letter that I should resubmit by January 5, 2002. I'm considering just scanning the back of the covers so they can see the Fox logo in the corner. Otherwise, I'm a little lost as to their reasoning. I bought the discs within the correct time frame, June-January 25, and the offer says you can buy any Fox title, not specific ones, or only the ones in their catalogue.

Can anyone help?

I think I am with you on the scanning the back cover of the DVDs and sending that along with the POP. Only other thing that pops to mind is maybe giving their customer service center a call, and asking them.

sounds to me like someone is just asleep at the wheel over at their distribution center

I just finished scanning them and I wrote a letter to accompany it. All this so I can give my Grandmother a copy of All About Eve (I'm giving her my DVD player as well)! I would call them, but there doesn't seem to be a #. It's a seperate company that's running the promotion, not Fox. It's called Gage Marketing Services, if anyone can get me there # in Minnesota. I'd be grateful. Or even better, Mary Summers of Gage Marketing Services. Thanks for all the help.

I am working on this freebie as well.

In general, this one was hard to spot, because the offer came only in "Cast Away" from what I recall.

Many other offers, like the Paramount one (other studios as well) put the free offer booklet in more than one DVD title. This one seems to have been in "Cast Away" only and would only honor purchases made after "Cast Away's street date of June 12, 2001.

Funny thing was, I had bought a lot of Fox titles before that, and after that date the Fox new releases had been kinda thin for me.

The four titles I am using are:

Cast Away
Planet of the Apes (Burton)
Willow
Moulin Rouge

Now all four of those seem to me to be Fox titles.

Stu:

The ad clearly states:

"Buy any 4 Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Titles from any retail store or on-line retailer" so you should be cool. Perhaps someone miss-read your receipt.

Did you circle the fox titles on the receipts? I know usually when I got a DVD receipt it has more than one DVD on it, maybe they read the wrong one.

The scans and the letter explaining what you described should do the trick.

I hope I don't get the same problems when I send mine off.

Good Luck Stu, let us know what happens.

The same thing happened to me , for the second time. Last year they did it . I returned them with a letter specifying that I had indeed sent the right tabs and they sent the movie. I still had the letter on the PC so I updated it and sent it with this offer. Time will tell if they respond favorably again.
I've gotten 4 or 5 movies through these offers and Fox is the only one to cause problems, now if they would just offer some good movies that I didn't already own they'd be great offers. I use them to try movies that I might not buy otherwise.
I think the fullfillment company is working off of release dates and ignoring the fact the offer specifies purchase dates. If a movie was released before the June date but bought after then it's not on their list and you have to prod them to accept it.
Good luck to us all, they came through last year , hope they do again.

I received the buy 4 get 1 free in my Diehard Ultimate Collection. So I used those 3 movies along with Predator. I received my copy of Entrapment Special Edition a couple of weeks ago.

Smegger,

That's interesting. My booklet out of "Cast Away" specifically states that the Special Edition of "Entrapment" is not elligible. It says 'Regular Version' only.

Also all the 3 movies that have seperate DTS versions, it says "Original Dolby Digital Version' on those as well.

Perhaps the Canadian offer is different from the US offer.

I remember "raping" Warner/New Line out of like, 20 DVDs. All WB/New Line DVDs come with 4 tabs & there was no household limit. So the A, B, C & D tabs came in useful for sending away for MORE DVDs.

Ah, those were the dayz!

I don't like the fact that you have to cut out the barcode (proof) on some of these offers, so most of the time I don't go for it.

Flash, The booklet did state the regular version of Entrapment and I was really suprised when the special edition showed up. But I'm not complaining.

Somebody else received the DTS version of Last of the Mohicans.
