Twin Peaks: The Complete Second Season

We all know the release of season 2 depends on how well season 1 sells

I haven't been able to find much information on how well the first season box set is selling. I hope/think they are selling pretty good. Around where I live they first week I almost could get it because they were sold out. From everyones observations does it look like it is selling well in your local stores?

Assuming Artisan is happy with the results when would they release seaon 2?

In my town, the primary DVD seller FUTURE SHOP had dozens of copies for sale when I picked mine up. I'm hoping it's because demand was high, and not because it's not selling.

Poppa, not to sound nitpicky, but it's ARTISAN, not Anchor Bay who is releasing Twin Peaks the series. Personally, I love the set with all mu heart, and cannot wait to watch every episode again! My only problem is that the menus can be awful to navidate through.

I was under the impression that Artisan was going ahead with plans to release season 2 in at least 2 waves (I guess 13 episodes or so per set) no matter what. I read an interview where they mentioned doing the 2nd season on DVD. Naturally, I forget the details! Regardless, TWIN PEAKS rocks the house down.

I like the menus, I haven't had any problems. They are unique just like the show.

Didn't HBO release all 20-some-odd episodes of the sopranos seasons in those small box sets? I don't own any so I wouldn't know.

I would much rather have them in one big set rather than two waves.

Hmm... I'd like a one big set too,.... but if splitting it in 2 makes the next release come out faster.... fine by me. Now... hurry it up!

Crap.

My guess would be that they would wait like 6 months in between each set before releasing.

If so, that is TOO long to wait.

BTW, anyone know how HBO fit all 20 something episodes in those cases? Maybe we can start a petition to get them to release them like that?

While on the subject, has anyone started a petition to get Warner to pay for the deleted scenes? I sent them a bunch of emails but I don't know how good that'll do.

If I'm not mistaken, Sopranos only have 12 or so episodes a season. Sex and the City did have 18 in season 2.

I think you are right about the Sopranos only having 12 episodes or so per season.

I've held the Twin Peaks Season One DVD set in my hands but haven't purchased it yet--how can I be content and watch only seven episodes (and without the pilot no less)? I'll probably purchase the set and place it on a shelf until the two waves of Season Two are released this year.

I just got my copy of the Region 0 Twin Peaks pilot episode on DVD, and except for the removable
Chinese subtitles, I haven't been able to access any of the other features - menu access, scene selection, character profiles, preview trailers, etc. Anyone else had a similar problem like this? It's not a major problem, though, since what matters is that I have the pilot episode on DVD, and now I can watch it alongside the Season 1 box set.

The Season 2 box set should be really inclusive of
everything that was in the second season, and if they break it apart into two sets, since basically
we find out who the killer is in the second season, everything after that episode would naturally fit into what Mark Rance proposes as the
"Season 3" set (to the end of the series). I'll definitely pick it up, along with the "Fire Walk With Me" DVD!

The Sopranos has had 13 episodes in all three seasons, which is a total of 39 episodes to date, of which 26 have been released in two sets on DVD. Sex And The City had 12 episodes in the first season and 18 episodes in the second, third, and fourth seaons, for a total of 66 episodes, of which 30 have been released in two sets on DVD.

Quit blaming the consumer, and blame Paramount for not giving Artisan their RIGHTFUL access to the source materials.

Geez, doesn't everybody realize Paramount is to blame for most of the evil in the universe? No extras on their TREK LDs, screwed up facts and insane spin control masquerading as supplemental info on the TREK DVD SE and DEs, and the Paramount Home Video adventure continues ... (and no, while I'm usually sarcastic, this time I'm being honest.)

Well the stated reason for no Twin Peaks Season 2 is "low sales of season 1", so frankly I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

I think he's right about Paramount. IIRC Paramount has the materials with a high licensing fee, waiting for Artisan's rights to expire so that they can release the series themselves. Paramount is releasing Season 2 to the rest of the non-US/Canada world next year.

We'll get it eventually, but we should have it already.

I think this HTF thread is the one that discusses the Paramount issue, it is the only TP related thread I had bookmarked. figured you folks had already seen this info.

I searched around a bit to try and find any mention of this, but The Digital Bits today reported that Paramount has started the long work of bringing Season 2 to DVD sometime next year. I wonder if it will have all the episodes, or be broken up into 2 volumes. We will see. But it is exciting to know that they are bringing it out!
