The only shows I would really love on DVD are The Adventures Pete and Pete and Home Movies - besides that I'm not a big fan of TV.

WKRP in Cincinnati (MTM, now owned by Fox). And considering what it would cost to licence the music for DVD, I think that not even my dying would help it get released.

Recent HTF chat made it crystal-clear to Warner that box sets would be appreciated. Stay tuned.

A best-of is in-the-works.

Never, per the studios. Music rights costs are prohibitively high. Forget about it...really.

Quote:
Roswell
Music clearance cost obstacles are in the process of trying to be overcome. It may still take a while. Fox VP Peter Staddon said in an online chat last fall that the cost is from $1-$2 million for just that aspect, and if costs can be reduced then the series will proceed.

Quote:
Seinfeld
Just re-signed a syndicated airings deal until 2011, seriously. I espect this won't be on DVD for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time!

Quote:
Twin Peaks S2
Not in 2003, presumably thanks to legal issues.

Quote:
The Cosby Show
This is available from Columbia House in one-disc best-of volumes, if you subscribe to their TV Classics club. This is the ONLY Carsey-Werner show presently out, and Profiler is coming thanks to the NBC/A&E deal. Cosby (the newer CBS show), A Different World, Roseanne, Grace Under Fire, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Normal Ohio, That 70's Show, That 80's Show, and Grounded for Life are all Carsey-Werner shows that are NOT on DVD, and there's no concept of when/if/how they will make it to home video releases.

Millenium
Probably not until after X-Files is done.

It was supposed to be "in 2003", along with Earth: Final Conflict (those first two seasons whose rights are owned by them and not ADV), Battlestar Galactica, Dragnet, Emergency!, Magnum P.I., and Rockford Files. Now that European owner Vivendi is in Enron-type financial ruin, and has put Universal up for sale, there will be no season sets of anything until the studio is sold and taken over by whoever the buyer turns out to be (Viacom, NBC, and MGM are among the bidders). Galactica may be the lone exception, due to the remake miniseries airing on SciFi channel later this year.

Quote:
The Wonder Years
In Warner's chat at the HTF recently, they stated they don't have the rights to this (as LBPound23 apparently knows, per his "?"). That stunned everyone, and noone else has stepped up and claimed ownership.

Quote:
AMERICAN GOTHIC
Cross your fingers on this one...there is a grass-roots campaign (a la MSCL) to get this one going. Good news: they looked hard at the MSCL deal and avoiding working with Another Universal, screwer-upper of the MSCL releases. Instead (at least as of late last year), they were trying to work with Jason Rosenfeld, the former BMG employee who initiated the MCSL release and lately has been crucifying AU for all the mishandling (and possible criminal action) during the MSCL production. Rosenfeld seems to be trying to get them set up with someone who is NOT AU, who I hope will take care of both the property holders, the disc producers, AND the customers all at the same time. Universal is apparently not involved, and may simply not hold the rights anymore. Keep your eyes here for developments.

Fastlane

Gilmore Girls

Scrubs
Don't you think it would be odd if these three came out on DVD while still airing? Yeah, Fox does Fastlane and put 24 and Malcom out while the show aired, but Fastlane is nowhere near those ratings-wise or strategy-wise. Scrubs is NBC, and it's not gonna happen while the series is airing and getting good ratings. Gilmore Girls is a possibility, being WB and all, but really...Warner has plenty of other things they would likely release first. Like Smallville and other DC comic shows, to cash in on the superhero craze right now. Like E.R., which is indeed coming as LBPound23 says. Like Dukes of Hazzard. Why Dukes? I dunno...but I'll take Daisy's thighs and a cool car any ol' day! Yeeeeee-hah!

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE SHOWS AT TVShowsOnDVD.com!
If you are going to take a minute and post about it here, you might as well vote there where the studios might actually see the interest and maybe do something about it, right? If you keep up with that site, you'll know as much about this stuff as I do!

What do *I* want? Hmmmm...Galactica would do nicely!

I'd like to see Tales From the Crypt, Taxi, The Odd Couple, and does anyone know if HBO's "Autopsy" shows are out or if there are plans? That show is great!

While the music rights prevent Miami Vice for coming out for at least the foreseeable future, I would like to think they could maybe release some of their two hr episodes. Then, one day when the planets align just right, the music rights can get negotiated and we'll get season box sets of it.

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing season sets of Magnum PI.

TV shows I really want are...

Seinfeld
Curb Your Enthusiasm
King of Queens
Undeclared
Andy Richter Controls The Universe
Freaks and Geeks

And, since I'm a sucker, I'd also dig any of the TV shows I grew up watching...

Dukes of Hazzard will indeed be in season sets, according to the Warner chat at HTF.

Three's Company is in pre-production, according to my sources.

I've been waiting for the Dukes to come to DVD for a long time. The only thing I've heard about it is this link...

http://www.noblepr.co.uk/Press_Relea...ner/dukes2.htm

According to this link, there will be only 3 shows per DVD..3 random shows(episodes 29,30,34 on Vol.1)...I hope they've changed this and its just an old link.

You know what? I take that back about season sets mentioned at the HTF chat. I just checked, and they only said "in the works". Sorry for the confusion!

I would kill for

BATMAN

If there is a God give me Batman. With interviews with Adam West, and Bert Ward. Also with any living villan. Making of's, delete's anything.

Also they should release all of the episodes in one dvd set.

Fox would dearly love to release it. Problem is, so would Warner!

Fox owns the footage. Warner owns the characters. There's a lot of money at stake here, and noone seems to be able to do the math up in a way that gets a fair share of money for all parties involved.

So we, the fans, wait. Endlessly, it seems, old chum.
