24: Season 5

Jack Bauer & RoboCop!!!

Quote:
Julian Sands, Peter Weller and JoBeth Williams CLOCK-IN FOR SEASON FIVE OF “24”

Four-Hour, Two-Night Premiere Event
Sunday, January 15, and Monday, January 16, ON FOX

As 24’s highly-anticipated premiere approaches, the cast is growing, with Julian Sands (“A Room with a View”), Peter Weller (“Robo Cop”) and Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress JoBeth Williams (“Poltergeist” and “The Big Chill”) join the series for it’s fifth heart-stopping season. 24 premieres with a four-hour, two-night event Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Additionally, the second hour on Monday, Jan. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) will mark the series’ 100th episode.

British born actor Julian Sands will play billionaire bad guy “Vladamir Bierko” while Peter Weller portrays “Christopher Henderson,” the federal agent who recruited Jack to counter terrorist work more than a decade ago. JoBeth Williams is Henderson’s wife, Miriam. All three characters will come face-to-face with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as he desperately attempts to prevent the series’ most lethal terror threat yet on US soil.

Season five picks up 18 months after the exciting conclusion of season four, as national security is brutally breached. A presumed dead Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is actually living a new life with Diane (Connie Britton) and her son Derek (Brady Corbet). A shaky President Logan (Gregory Itzin) is running the nation, while composed Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) commands CTU alongside key operatives Curtis Manning (Roger Cross), Edgar Stiles (Louis Lombardi) and Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Also featured in season five will be Emmy Award-winning actress Jean Smart as First Lady Martha Logan. In addition, Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) and Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) return, while Lynn McGill (Sean Astin) joins CTU.

24, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Brian Grazer, Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon and Evan Katz are the executive producers. Kiefer Sutherland is a co-executive producer.

How long will these new cast members last before they're summarily ditched for returning characters like Palmer and Michelle?

Season 4 was god-awful. I'm not sure I should even bother with Season 5. And I used to be a huge fan of this show.

While I didn't hate season 4, it was the weakest of the four. That said, I am looking forward to the 5th season.

Mmmmmm, Reiko...

Plus, she was the only worthwhile, intelligent female character in the show's history, the only one who wasn't a ball-busting shrew (Sherry Palmer, Aisha Tyler in season 4) or a jiggly damsel in distress (Kimbo the bimbo, Kim Raver in season 4). Bring back Michelle and Tony, dammit!

What about Chloe? Maybe a little passive agressive crazy, but she was the bomb at her job.

Ditto that, Chloe is not in anyway hot. Michelle would break her like a twig, then Nina would break Michelle like something weaker than a twig, then Jack would come in and scream at 'em.

Anyways, here's hoping season 5 isn't as stupid as season 4.

They should have sent Chloe into that virus infested hotel a couple seasons ago and told her to just breathe deep the whole time she was there and when whats his face got a face full of the virus she should have been made to give him a big ole lip lock. Then we could have at least seen 1 worth while death.

Oh I agree that Chloe is very annoyng. OTOH, I like the fact that she's really good at her job. It's more interesting to have a character that you like and dislike in that way.

I guess she's not THAT bad, but compared to Michelle or Nina, sorry Chloe...go back to your desk.

Agreed....she plays her part well, and is needed in my opinion. She adds a flavor to the series. And the fact that people hate her makes her worthy.

If ya'll know what I mean....

Didn't say *I* had herpes, although I'd stay away from the Pioneers unless you want to catch it.

I think I am going to hold out until the end of the season and watch it all in a 2-3 day bender with a couple friends.

I always record the whole season and then give the tapes to friends who blow through it in a couple days, knowing nothing about the season going in and they have a great time. I usually join them for half a dozen or so episodes and its hella-fun, but I know the whole plot going in, so this year I think I'll join them and have a twentyfourgy around mid may.

see you then!

I saw today on the Fox movie channel a promo for the DVD of season 4. They were tlaking about the preview of S5 that they are shooting for the dvd like they did for season 4. All I saw was that

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
Jack had long hair and was meeting Chloe in some trainyard/warehouse storage area and she was followed and an all out car chase involving Jack followed

I liked Season 4 alot, hopefully we can get a few more years out of Jack Bauer

I actually think Season 2 was the best of them all. Season 4 was ok, better than Season 3 I think. I'm excited to see where the plot is going to go for Season 5 though. Regardless, this is one of those shows I just have to keep tuning into each week.

Season one was a good warm up but season two and three rocked! Nothing like seeing Jack take an axe to a guy's arm...wow

I would consider the first and second seasons to be the best. Season 3 was good, but not as good as 1 & 2.
Jack Bauer is, hands down, the biggest bad ass on tv today.

I was not prepared to see Jack with very long hair in the Season 5 teaser available on the Season 4 DVD

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
The segment is very short... the spend the first few minutes playing the last scene from the season then there is a cool car scene, but not much info is given out. Chloe is in Chicago telling Jack he needs to leave.
