Deadwood Season 2

Not many details as of yet, except it will be in February '06 at the usual high HBO retail price of $99.98. More info to come.

Can't wait... The $70 this will cost on the shelf is a steal for such great content.

Havent seen it and I've been meaning to watch season 1. Do you think they will have a sale combining season 1 and 2 for a good price? Just wondering or should I just get Deadwood now and stop waiting?

Best Buy usually does some sort of deal when new TV seasons come out, so I'd probably hold off if I were you. It might only be $10 or so off the collective price of the 2 seasons, but saved money is good money.

Also, you'll most likely still have plenty of time to watch all the seasons before the 3rd season starts. Word has it that season 3 is now set to air in June, instead of March. HBO originally was going to air Deadwood with the 6th season of The Sopranos, but now they are most likely going to air the premiere season of Big Love (their new polygamy drama with Bill Paxton) with The Sopranos instead.

Edit: February 28th is the release date.

Look for HBO Video to release Deadwood: The Complete Second Season on February 28th. We don't have the full specs quite yet, but we're told to expect all twelve episodes from the sophomore season presented in 1.78 anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0. Bonus features will include nine commentary tracks and four featurettes. Retail will be $99.98.

I still have not seen this show. But I'm getting it for Christmas. I'm glad to see the second season is coming out in Feb. I was wondering the other day when it was going to be released. There is going to be a 3rd season of Carnivale? I thought it had been cancelled.

Edit: just realized you were talking about Deadwood.

I'm losing it. I thought this whole thread was about Carnivale. I was searching for Carnivale and somehow clicked on this.....ugh anyway.

I do love Deadwood though and I'm eagerly anticipating season 2.
Good news!

It looks like season 2 of Deadwood is now being delayed, to more closely coincide with HBO's airing of Season 3. No date set just yet, but it's not going to be February, like originally planned.

News on TV Shows on DVD

Quote:
A VERY well-placed industry source saw our recent news about a late-February street date for Deadwood - The Complete 2nd Season, and has let us know that the info about the date - which came from trade magazine Home Media Retailing - is already obsolete. We're told that the studio has decided to delay the release until the late Spring/Early Summer time frame. This coincides with HBO's plans to debut their broadcasts of the show's third season in June. The exact new release date for Season 2 has not been decided upon, but stay tuned and we'll let you know just as soon as we find out. Our thanks to our source for taking the time to let us know!
