There seems to be some interesting changes in this edition. First off there will be four tribes of four. One consisting of four older men, one of four older women, one of four younger men, and one of four younger women. Plus, each week one survivor will be banished to "Exile island", alone. What that means is yet to be determined, but it could be a real cahllenge for some. Of course it could be a lame gimmick where the person has everything they need on the island (fire, water, shelter) and doesn't have to fend for themselves.

My early favorites based on bios are Misty (cause she listed 24 as a favorite show) and Sally because she's originally from MN.

In the Guatemala reunion, Probst said something to the effect that the exile island might hold secrets that will help the survivors advance further in the game. That could certainly make things interesting.

Looks like exile island will have a hidden immunity idle, so going there could be a good thing.

Of course they will have everything the need. The camera-man that will be with him/her to film the going-ons of sitting around, waiting for something exciting to happen, is Union, thus his food, drink and lodging will be provided.
Damn Union!! Totally ruining Survivor!!

I don't understand the ads for the show. "Four teams: Men vs Women, Old vs Young"

Okay, does that mean the Old and Young teams are sexless, neither man nor woman? Bad commercial.

A decent start to the new season. I really don't know how long they can take the 4 teams bit, 'cause if one team sucks too much, and has say 1 or 2 people, all the other teams will have to sit out an equal amount, so half the contestants would be sitting on the sidelines.

So I think withing a very short period of time, they'll have some type of merge to 2 teams or something.

And Misty, the first person exiled, is pretty damn cute.

Was not impress with anyone on this edition of survivor. Was in my opinion the lamest, dullest season opener ever. Does that mean I will no longer watch Survivior? Hell no. Im just not liking this new 4-man/4-team format. Did they not learn from the Family Edition of Amazing Race?

Dont fix what aint broke.

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
Like maybe next week. In the promo they said a early shake up will catch them off gaurd. I'm thinking they split the older women tribe placing one member on each of the other tribes to bring the total to 5 people in each.

Yeah I think that was pretty obvious in the commercial for next week because one of the older ladies was talking about the three-pack-a-day dude wanting to quite the contest and the only way she would know that is if they merged.

Strange, my wife and I both thought it was the BEST season opener in years. You can't possibly think the one were they made the guy climb the greased up poll to retrieve a rock was better then this one, can you?
What I loved about this one was it showed exactly what we've been saying for years. The older folk are always the ones that carry the tribes right from the start, while the younger folk screw around on the beach, proven by the fact that the two older tribes had a camp setup, while the younger two tribes were either playing baseball on the beach, or having trouble deciding which tree would make the best shelter.

Yeah. That pole climbing season opener was lame to say the least. But as far as this one. Just didn't feel that it lived up to past openers.

And you are correct about the old vs. new. What are the old chicks thinking? Vote off the one that kept you together? Like the other 3 can even wipe their own asses, let alone pick up leaves. Just dumb. Clearly they have never watched an episode of Survivor.

This is for all future contestants of the show (The rule is, if you want to fuck around and do nothing on the show, keep the ones that do all the work in your Tribe).

Well what happened with the vote was Lumber-Jill made the comment about wanting the other three to do more work, that pissed the three ladies off and most guys who have girlsfriends/wives know, when a woman gets mad she doesn't always think logically. I knew as soon as she said what she did she was gone. What they should have done was vote off the woman afraid of leaves, kept lumber-Jill but tore her a new ass hole when they got back to the beach.
But it's all moot, the three older ladies are probably going to be evenly distributed amungst the other three tribes so we'll see what happens from there. My guess is the woman afraid of leaves goes to the older guys team because of what I wrote above.

I was so impressed by the older women....until the tribal meeting where they voted the strongest off...suiddenly the level of combined intelligence was that of the leaves they are scared to pick up...

Okay, last night's episode reminded me of something I would watch in an elemtary school playground. I have decided that I want that hour of my life back. The show has now been exiled from my viewing schedule :flush:

GloWorm, who was a cheerleader at UC Irvine basketball games for 2 years, just called me to let me know that one of the guys on the Irvine basketball team during her cheering is Aras Baskauskas, who is in this season of "Survivor".

Very cool! I watched this guy on the court many times (although I must admit I spent more time looking at GloWorm in her cheer uniform ), and he was a very solid player. He's now the guy I'm rooting for.

Cool, mtcarmel00. To bad Aras doesn't know what he's doing. He was one of those that exposed their alliance to the rest of the team last week. That's not a good idea. It gives those in the minority of the alliance and the those not in the allinace good reason to gang together and vote out the leaders.

We'll see if they are smart enough to do it.

I thought yesterday's immunity challenge was one of the best and most hard-fought I've ever seen on the show. I loved how physically brutal it was. Did anyone else think it was a good one?

I liked the girl-on-girl action.

Seriously though, the challenges have all been good the past two seasons. Tough, interesting challenges are what make the shows fun to watch. The intergame politics are secondary to me because most of the time it set out early and there is no people breaking allinaces multiple times to shake things up.

Who's the stupidest player, in your opinion?

Terry has really got his work cut out for him.

All the way back to the first episode, Shane told Cerrie and that blonde woman that either one of them were going, he didn't care which one.
Fast forward several weeks and Cerrie won't go against him in the vote?
How stupid is she? She and Bruce have GOT to know as soon as Terry's gone, they're next in the picking order.

Terry is the best player EVER on Survivor - 4 immunity challenges in a row! If he doesn't win it will be the biggest Survivor let down EVER!

According to his IMDb profile, Colby won nine individual challenges. It doesn't say anything about how many he won in a row though. But since they merge at ten people and even after the merge some of the challenges involve small teams, I'm suspecting he probably won more than four in a row. And Colby didn't win the whole thing.

That said, Terry is pretty damned awesome, and there's many more challenges for him to win.

I agree, the thing is, I didn't like Colby but I sure do like Captain America! I was so happy he won the truck but dissappointed that he wasn't given a chance to give two away to break the curse.

Terry is the ultimate survivor - everyone knows it, he got screwed! What a waste of time...a guy like Aaras, Aares, Arse, however you spell his name, should win, GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

Ah well, at least they acknowledged in the reunion who should have truly won.
