Friends to make a (short) return.

Each player getting a cool five million to reprise their roles.

Okay, I loved this show in it's prime (the last two seasons were pushing it), but NBC can't be that desperate for ratings to blow twenty million just to get these four back for some reunion specials, especially since it's been less than two years since the show went off the air. Like Joey isn't bad enough? :flush:

Ack!
No idea why people slam the last few seasons of Friends. The writting was as good and the situations were as funny as they were at the beginning.
And of course NBC is that hard up. It's a ratings smash guarentee. Twenty million for what they can command for televsion spots will be a drop in the bucket.
It's a good business decision in my opinion and I for one can't wait to see it.

I am all for this. And if they can make the 2nd spin-off work, I gladly welcome that as well.

But how would you keep the 3 guys in their own show. That means that Chandler and Monica would have gotten divorced and Ross and Rachel are still on a break, which would kinda dillute the Series Finale of them all "living happily ever after:.

But then again. Joey hasn't lived a happy ending since moving to L.A.

Ive actually thought Joey was funny, not on par with friends, but entertaining enough, i didnt realize it was doing so badly. Is that just talk, or are the ratings really that bad

The ratings were pretty bad. They were starting to come back up right before NBC put it on hiatus for the Olympics.

When Joey does come back. And it will. It will be cool to see them set up the impending renuion of Friends.

I would like them to actually bring some of the Characters on as guest stars. Give the show a much-needed kick in the ratings.

Its just too bad, that this will be its last season. And that Drea got whacked for nothing. Now she wont have any TV shows.

Who said this is it's last season? I've read nothing that said Joey is NOT coming back for a third season.

I wonder how Hollywood.com feels about running a story that was bullshit?

Well I read in a magazine few months ago where NBC was asked why they didn't just cancel Joey due to lackluster ratings. And they (NBC) said that it would actually save them money to just burn out the remainder of the season as oppose to cancelling the show and letting Matt Le Blanc walk away with his money.

So nothing was officially said that it was being cancelled. It was more on my part of reading between the lines that NBC wouldnt be bringing it back based soley on the "Burn out the remainder of the season" remark.

Im trying to find out where that article is now.

As for the Rumor that Friends Reunion is a no-go. I now feel stupid because I went and told people this story.

How do I break their hearts telling them it was a joke? Maybe if I dont mention it they may just forget all together.

Don't just stop there. You need to totally deny ever having said anything in the first place.

Agreed. I liked Joey and it seemed that it was starting to pick up steam in recent episodes. I don't know why people keep ripping on it.

I've always enjoyed the Joey series, and it's become more interesting with the cute blonde Alex falling for Joey, but he doesn't know it. And watching Drea DeMatteo and Jennifer Coolidge is an absolute hoot.

Although I watched the Friends series, I never understood why it was so popular. I thought it was a decent to pretty good series.

Looks like Matthew Perry has signed on to star in Aaron Sorkins new show, thus ending any chance of a 2nd spin off for Joey, Chandler, and Ross.

Not sure if that's sarcasm, but he'll be put to much better use with Sorkin than anything Friends related.

ive though Jennifer coolidge was one of the best parts of this show, while previously on so many occassion in other things i have found her very annoying, her character on joey has always been really entertaining, one of the funnier parts of the show, and her guest spot on Friends was hilarious

My favorite Joey episode is when they all go to the premiere party (or something like that) and Brett Spiner is in attendance. Jennifer Coolidge calls him Mr. Roboto (among other things).
