24

I saw an older episode of 24 on the other day, I felt that the show was gripping and had me on the edge of my seat. What are everyone's thoughts on the show? Does anyone have any suggestions on whether or not to buy a season or two?

24 is an excellent show! It's definitely worth picking up some seasons. To me, Season 4 was/is probably the weakest of all, but it's still better than many shows out there today

Season One is the best it ever got. Since then it's been getting steadily more ridiculous as time goes on. Sure, it's still entertaining, but I dno't see myself sticking with it much longer if it keeps going down this road. They might as well not even bother pretending it's all one day anymore.

Well each season has it's lame plot lines. If you get season 1 every scene with Terry Bauer in it you can basically fastforward through. in season 2 and 3 any Kimbo the bimbo story line can be FF through too. this season has definately been one of the best, no family ties screwing things up. I just wished we could have seen more of that chick Jack was living with on the ranch at the beginning of the season.

All in all every season of 24 is worth owning.

I bought the first season blind and I enjoyed it, but when I bought the second season I found the quality to be significantly dropped. I would rate my experience with season one as an 8 or 9, but season two was more like a 6. I can't explain why, it was a while ago, but that's how I felt at the time.

Needless to say, I never bought seasons three or four.

Also, I would think the replay value of the show is limited, because as I remember season one most of the cool moments were the cliffhangers you never saw coming.

well, season one was bad for me only in the last area where there were some annoyingly bad accents from one actor in particular. Season two had an annoying storyline in it with kim that was pointless to me. season three had another bad kim storyline, and she was annoying once again. season four was when they brought in the annoying edgar stiles,
Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
who was thankfully killed off in this season
. season four also had some insane twists that started being almost like a soap opera, but it was still good.

I liked the first 4 seasons. They each get a little corny at times and some scenes seem to drag on, but over all, they are each worth watching.

Season 1 can be had for $20 lately.
