I think it is funny, but I could see him running out of material real quick. There are only so many ways you can pick on different races, sexes, gay, etc. before you've covered every stereotype and it gets old.

Hope he is saving his money because his 5 minutes of fame are gonna be up.

I like the guy. I've seen him in comedy clubs several times. But, I hate his show. Not because it's non-PC, but because it's just too manic. Manic works when you're on stage in a club. It doesn't work when you're trying to bring in video clips and all the rest.

Joe Rogan whines like a 10 year old on his website that and the fact he's on a second rate reality show and his stand up "comedy" really does suck. Also as much as rogan says Mencia claims to be mexican.....he never has once ever claimed to be mexican. He's always been very straight up that he was born in Honduras, where his mom and dad are from and where he lived. It's peoples perceptions that he's mexican. Like in one of his acts he says people from LA say all latinos are mexican, goto Miami and you're Cuban, goto new York and you're Puerto Rican.

Stop whining Joe just because other comedians are making it big and your not doesn't mean you have to bring everyone down.

Joe Rogan has had a pretty successful career. He was on one of the best sitcoms in the past twnety years--News Radio. Second rate reality or not, Fear Factor did/has last several seasons and was pretty big in ratings. It's also in syndication, so I'm sure he's making pretty good money off of that.

And he does have a point, Mencia is pretty much a hack as a comedian. He gets on stage and says, "White people be weird! Black people be dangerous! Hispanics be lazy! Haha, laugh at me!" That's not really comedy, but it's kind of like Family Guy where people laugh more because he's saying something "taboo" than because he's saying it in a funny way.

Nah, not into the guy. He has had some good lines in past stand-up routines, but he relies heavliy on race, and rarely ventures out to do anything else. I read somewhere else his real name isn't Carlos Mencia, so even though he never claimed he was of any Latino decent, like my grandma says, "If he / she walks like a duck, and talks like a duck"...

And he DOES steal material, and not every comic steals either.

Guess what I had to drop this shocker on you guys but about 80 to 90% of all celebs "names" are there real names so why is this an issue?? Hell at the end of his show his production company Ned Los is there. All his fans know his real names isn't Carlos. His mothers last name however is Mencia. As for "stealing" material. Point it out PLEASE I would love to see/hear it. I bet you'll find it's so generalized that it could come from any of a 1000 people walking down the street.

Shocker? Hardly, and the name change is certainly NOT the reason why I'm just not digging him. He just relies way too heavily on the "so-called" taboos in society about race, gender, sex, and so on. The whole "You Think It, I Say It" catch phrase (if you want to call it that) is about 30 years too late. He seems to enjoy this trend of being set apart in the comic world (and it's partly Comedy Central's fault since they no longer have Chappelle keeping their lights on), assuming he's commenting on topics that have NEVER BEEN TOUCHED ON??

Paul Mooney, now HE's an original. He has left no stoned uncovered, and has been around for decades to back it up.

If you want to consider yourself to be politically incorrect, fine knock yourself out, but he seems to be making himself out to be the poster boy for it at this present time, when there are tons of comics out there who don't have a show on tv, but knock crowds dead in comedy clubs all over the country.

I'll take the word of multiple well known comics on the issue. It's their industry and I'm sure they know joke stealing when they see it.

I've always liked it. It's a funny blend of stand-up, location shoots, and in-studio sketches. And it's usually very funny.

Carlos Mencia is one of the worst show hosts I've ver seen. My tv is always on comedy centrel, aside from when his show is on. I would rather watch Drawn Together than Mind of Mencia. I would rather watch an episode of Myth Busters I've seen 5 times already than watch any episode of Mind of Mencia. I won't comment on his stand up, because I've never seen it, but I will always change the channel when he is on.

I've been watching comedians almost as a science for years, Carlos's constant yeLLING OUT ALL OF HIS JOOOKEEES! is one of the worst techniques I've ever seen. Bobcat Goldthwait would have spastic loud attacks, but balanced it with a slurred, unsure timidness before explosions. Carlos yells at the top of his lungs for over half of the time he's talking. Like he's trying to artificially pump me up into making a noise (laughing).

For all the people that love it because what he says is 'Taboo', It's freaking 2008. Everyone has said taboo things forever. Maybe it has just worn on me after so long, but I'm not even sure there is a limit anymore. I don't even think I can be offended purely by the insanity or proposteriousness of a statement that someone could make. I can still be offended by people that have absolutely no talent to present anything they do or say in a humorous way. Because that offends comedy. I hate Mind of Mencia, I'm not saying I hate Carlos himself, I don't know him. But his 'style' right now, I believe will only appeal to people who only can enjoy surface humor because they can't understand anything that takes cognitive action, or they want a Latino Celebrity being main stream so bad, that they will support him til the end.
