Interesting article on HDTV

I read this article in USA Today about what cable companies are going through on supplying more HD channels:

Personally, I hope that the Cablecard doesn't go to the wayside. I like that I have my HDMI slot open for my DVD player without having to buy a splitter or manually switch out the cables. I can't imagine the hassle of needing to deal with that if it did eventually come to the obsolescence of cablecards.
