TV on DVD: What Are You Watching?

I was surprised that we didn’t have a thread like this. Maybe we do and I just didn’t do the right search.

Anyway….

Grey's Anatomy (Season 2 Uncut)

As I typed this now, I've been watching a Mega Marathon of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Finishing up with Season 5.

Next stop is Marathon of Arrested Development.

Right now, "Lost: Season 2" and "The Office: Season 2", though next week I'll have "Battlestar Galactica: Season 2" added to that.

Invader ZIM...just picked up Vol. 1 and I'll be grabbing Vol. 2 as soon as I'm done. This show was practically made for DVD.

Been too busy to finish my current series of Carnivale: Season 2 and i will be sad and so pissed off when its done Should have it done maybe on Wednesday. Then io will probably move onto Veronica Mars: Season 2 and/or Deadwood: Season 2 (watch it with my mom so slow progress in completing series)

Plus i still need to watch Lost: S1 (pick up season 2 more then likely) and 24: Season 4

Do yourself a favour and buy the Zim Box House to go along with it. The series is only 3 Volumes and the house comes with a bonus disc of extras and a small Red Eye GIR toy. You can get it with the entire series or with just the bonus disc.

Oh, believe me, I know. I discovered, though, that the box with the complete series would cost more than buying the three volumes and then the box, so that's been my plan.

I just recently finished Lois And Clark: Season Three and Veronica Mars: Season Two. Right now I'm working on Lost: Season Two so that I can be prepared for season three next month. After I get done with that I'm going to get back to finishing Farscape: Season Four.

The Closer Season 1. Love this show. I can't wait for season 2 to come out on DVD.

I'll be starting Lost Season 2 next.

It would be the latter of the two: Tee-Hee.

I'm watching Smallville Season Five. The show was pretty mediocre for its first three seasons, but starting in season four they switched things up a bit more and made it more serialized, and now the show is better... still not a classic by any means, but good.

I couldn't stomach all the awful acting and bad writing after season 3. The only thing that show has going for it is Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor.

Well the show's had that shit from the beginning, which is why it will never be anything more than vacant entertainment. If you think the plotlines were better early on though, you're crazy... things have definately gotten a bit better in the plot department.

Everything in Season 2 with Martha's baby and the ship and the finale with Clark leaving easily trumps all the retarded crap the show pulled later on with Brainiac and Lana's witch powers or whatever they were trying to do with that load.

The show has become a shitting ground for gimmicky episodes and cameos for other Superman and DC characters that really have no place being there.

I finished season one of Veronica Mars last week (loved it), and am currently working through season 2 of Lost.

I hope you also like season two of Veronica Mars. Some people dissed it, saying that the season long mystery was too convoluted, and that the relationship stuff between all the teen characters was a bit too much. The former issue isn't a problem if you watch the season over a shorter span of time on DVD (which limits the problem of forgetting things that happened previously), and as for the later issue, come on, it's a show about teenagers. Of course there's going to be all sorts of angst-ridden relationships. That's what teenagers are all about. I expect it.

Anyway, I loved season two and can't wait for season three.

It's also not like "adult" dramas are entirely devoid of angst-ridden relationships. Teens get a bad rap.

Finished watching Smallville Season Five, now watching My Name is Earl.

Smallville 5 was a great season, probably the best the show has ever had. They've gone from barely watchable to somewhat addicting, so I have to give them credit for that. I hope they get Clark and Chloe together, though I know they never will.

My Name is Earl is pretty funny so far, but it's not the amazing comedy people have told me it is. Jason Lee has a lot of watchability, but if it wasn't for that I'm not sure the show would have much of anything (in other words, the writing isn't there like it should be).

Jamie Priestly (or however you spell it) makes the show for me. It's funny without her, but it's hella funnier with her. She's amazing.

Really? I could totally take her or leave her on the show. Lee is really the star for me, and if I had to pick a #2 at this point it would probably be Giovani Ribisi's guest character.
