That was great. I was never one of those people who seemed to hate Nikki and Palou, so it wasn't like I was rooting for their fate, but the way the episode went about it was fantastic. I really loved that episode. Lost is on a role!

Glad they got rid of those two. It was weird everytime they had a little moment thrown in, and this episode explaining them was dumb(writing was like that of a 12yr old)... come to think the whole thing did play like a bad Tales from the Crypt episode.

That episode was fantastic, loved the way they did it - I've been watching the tales from the crypt dvds so this was right up that alley - great stuff and looks like it's going to keep going next week!

I really enjoyed the last episode, got a kick out of Nikki being killed off in the back story first. The part where the director was telling her they could find a way to bring her back kept me waiting for one of them to move in the grave. Cant wait for next week...

It was indeed another great episode. It was kinda weird how Nikki and Paolo were added to the cast this season but were supposed to be there the whole time. I really did like how they re-shot scenes of the pilot to insert Nikki and Paolo there, feeling a bit like "Back to the Future" from the different perspective.

I think there had been a lot of criticism from the fans about them being added, when the cast already seemed plenty big, especially with the Others now given a fair share of screen time.

Audience numbers are slowly wilting, though. Last week's was 12.2 million.

After some real crap this season of Lost (I hated Stranger In a Strange Land and most of the "fall season") I think they are getting back to good things. My favorite episode remains Flashes Before Your Eyes, and the last two were really excellent. Let's hope this is carried through to the end of the season!

I'll throw my hat in the "its finally gotten better" ring. I don't know if they were waiting for this time to have these kind of really good episodes but i'm glad that they have been consistent the last few weeks and it looks like next week is another good one.

Someone asked me about Lost the otherday and I described it as a box of puzzle pieces and each episode a new piece grabbed and put towards the bigger picture. I just really hope Lost starts answering some of the linger questions that have been lingering since almost the first episode.

Despite the most recent episodes being really good, the audience watching is dwindling even more, now dropping below the 12 million mark. Last week's episode was 11.5 million, which is still good enough to keep Lost in the top 20 since a fair number of shows are still showing repeats, but with mediocre audience numbers last this, this does make it more likely that next season will be the last season of Lost.

Personally, I wouldn't mind in the slightest if next year were the last season of Lost. I'd rather the show go out while still at a creative peak than grind on for 9 seasons just to pump up the syndication dollars. Just so long as the writers don't have to "rush" their storytelling.

I remember reading somewhere not too many months ago that they were looking for 2 more seasons at most. I wouldn't mind them getting off the island mid-next season and spending the last season not only readjusting to life back "home" but also exploring dharma and why the "others" know so much about them. Then ending the show with all the answers to the questions.

I do believe that has been my problem w/ Lost, they ask more questions then are answered and I'm hoping that the next episode will answer one if not a few of them. But I guess by not they keep me watching.

I am really just about to call it quits on this show for that reason. This last episode was very nearly the breaking point. I am giving it a chance this week and the end of this season, but will not be overly enthused to keep watching next year.

In my opinion, the first season shouldn't have spanned as many days as it did. They should have taken a slower pace to fill up 3 seasons worth. I think the season we're watching now should have been next season to not make it seem like they're running out of ideas before they really should. But I do believe that the producer's of the show have an idea on how they're going to wrap up the show. This is one show that can't not have a proper send off, if they do, it'll be bad for the network

You know the thing that drives me the most nuts about this show? When they have one of the others as a captive, why do they not grab them by the throat and scream "How the fuck do you know me!!??". I mean Sayid(sp?) is a certified professional torturer, and the rest of the cast had little trouble with the notion of torturing Sawyer, so why don't they go to work on these people? I doubt they can all withstand it.

Even short of torturing, maybe at least open a line of dialog/questioning as to who they are, why they are there and how the hell do they know everything!

I see where you're coming from, but I think you're making the mistake of looking at from your own perspective, and not the people on the island. We've had several years to hash all this stuff out. They've had less than three months, most of that time spent struggling for their lives, neck deep in the unknown. I don't blame them when they do things the way I think they should.

Plus, it looks like Sayid will do exactly what you're talking about next week.

"You'll kill me if I tell you everything I know."

"What do you think I'll do if you don't?"

Sayid did, with Ben in Season 2 when they captured him as Henry Gale. It didn't get them much info at all. Also, we've seen Sayid go through his struggles with his past life. And it's not like he's had opportunities to torture anyone else besides Ben. He hasn't been in contact with the Others like Jack, Kate, and Sawyer have.

Last night's episode was pretty good but not quite as good as the last couple of episodes that had come before it....still there was some good stuff and a few semi-answers, like the fact that the others knew about the "monster" but have no idea what it is, and the monster can be repelled by the sonic barrier - also did any else notice that the monster appeared to coalesce from about 4 different "clouds"? I think they are clouds of nanites (and so can approximate/impersonate a person - eg Remmy (sp?) and can also change shape - see "fist of Ecko's doom)...just my opinion though (I read Prey within the past couple of years so it's influencing my thoughts on what the monster is)

True enough. It's mainly the aggrivation of them not pursuing certain lines of questioning. Like with Andrew Divov(sp?) a few eps back, after he was revealed to be an 'other', my response to everything he said from then on would have been, 'how do you know that, how do you know that, how do you know that', instead the characters just looked at him.

Another great episode last night. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Elizabeth Mitchell has been a wonderful addition to the cast this season, and she was superb last night. Lots of stuff was revealed last night, including the whats and whys of Claire's kidnapping in Season 1.

It's a shame that the audience for this show is steadily declining (last week's audience at 11.6 million) because these episodes are among the best of Lost, maybe even better than Season 1 (where I found the Shannon/Boone and Michael/Walt storylines mediocre).

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
My theory - she is someone Penny hired to find Desmond, like those two guys in the arctic.

Notice that the shopkeeper lady (Fionnuala Flanagan) that Desmond bought Penny's engagement ring from was in the picture on the head monk's desk? Hmmmmm.

Yeah, but, dude, why would Supes agree to run instead of fly?

They've done races between those 2 for decades and the Flash is actually a tad bit faster then Supes in a foot race.

and to answer your question: Because the Flash can't fly
