That is indeed his character name, and he's also the one who recruited Juliet, so he can't be a figment of anyone's imagination, which I initially considered when Ben saw him as a child.

Was this the first episode that the name Jacob was mentioned? I seem to recall hearing it before, but am not sure. Jacob is a big mystery indeed. I'm not sure what to make of him either, but since we've got a black smoke monster, an invisible poltergeist isn't much of a stretch either.

Another fantastic episode, this has been a great stretch of outstanding episodes that I've rarely seen in any TV series. Given what we've seen, I bet the finale will be one heck of a cliffhanger.

No, Jacob has been mentioned many times before. Sometimes just as "him". "They weren't even on on Jacob's list", etc.... Also in that Clockwork Orange like scene, flashing on the screen was "God loves you as he loved Jacob".

My wife said the same thing (eyeliner) - that is pretty funny. We also noticed that he appeared not to have aged.

And Locke will live, he has to....

(I loved the scene when Mikhail came into the camp and Locke just walked over and beat the snot out of him - classic!)

biglyle, that resemblance you point out is uncanny. Huh... Could Jacob be Alvar Hanso?

So we got a pretty big answer last night in what I think may have been my favourite Charlie episode....this was a great setup for next week's season finale - can't wait to see what happens!

Another great episode, a little surprising for me since it was a Charlie episode, who is currently my least favorite character. But the flashbacks were minimal, and his scenes with Desmond were great. That was an unexpected ending, the babes with guns showing up in the underwater jamming station.

Was surprised not to see some sort of resolution with Locke. Hopefully, we'll see something next week in the finale and not leave us hanging until next season, but I bet they will.

This has been the best season of Lost so far.

I wasn't terribly surprised to find the underwater station still unflooded, as I believe that's where Jack was being held earlier this season. Remember when he opened the door, and all the water came flooding in...?

Jack wasn't in that station. That station was located over on the other island, far on the other side of the main island. That was the Hydra station, anyway, not the Looking Glass station.

The two stations look nothing alike, from what I could tell. And it looks like the way you get to the Looking Glass is completely different. By Submarine? Hmmm.. When I heard that it was an underwater station I did think it was going to be the Hydra. The looking glass looks bigger.

I can't wait for the finale. I read somewhere: "After the finale, fans will be left scratching their heads wondering how the show will continue."

If they in fact do get off who knows if the series will work anymore, remember that other JJ Abrams series that also killed off it's major story point called Alias? i.e the death of SD6 in a season and a half.

I don't see a rescue coming in the finale. None of Desmond's future visions have come true, as he has shown that the future outcomes can be avoided. I think something else will happen that will prevent at least Claire and Aaron from getting on the helicopter. And since Charlie's not dead yet, Desmond's vision of Charlie sacrificing himself hasn't come true yet.

I just hope we get some sort of resolution with Locke tonight, but I don't expect any more of an explanation of who/what Jacob is until next season.

I just hope the writers don't forget about it like they have for Hurley's lotto numbers/numbers on the side of the hatch.

I'd have to say that is the biggest what the fuck moment of my tv viewing life.

The big question Mrs. Monro and I are contemplating now is who was the article referring to? We have it on dvr and can't read it. I'm sure it'll pop up online at some point.

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
First, I believe it is Ben's funeral, as noone showed up and Kate's reaction. My biggest question is with Locke. Why does he not want anyone to get off the island. Why did Walt to come to him for that brief moment. If he doesn't want to leave, just stay w/ Rouseau and live happily ever after.

I pegged the flashbacks as "fast forwards about half way through when he was on his cell phone and the phone was one of the new razor/crazor motorola phones.

They didn't let down on the fact that we're scratching our heads and now we know why there won't be more then 48 more episodes. Apparently they get off the island, but the bigger question is do they go after the Hanzo Foundation or does it now focus on them getting back into civilized life or Jack just trying to get back on the island.

sorry for my sorta rambling but i'm just trying to process all of this, wow, thumbs up to ABC for producing this show

sorry for the randomness, i'll probably be like this all summer:

One question I wanted answered was about the 4 toed statue that we saw at the end of last season.

Also if they get off the island, are we going to follow up with Michael & Walt?

All in all, I believe the producers/writers know what their doing. Their job is to make us want more and especially with this show ask more questions then are answered.

Um... wow! Just... WOW!

Awesome episode.

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
I think Locke saw Walt when he did, because the island manifest things from their subconscious. Locke needed something to 'kick him in the ass' and make him get out of the pit.

As for the flash forward (BTW, someone on another forum pointed out - Hoffs/Drawlar, the funeral home Jack went to, is an anagram for flash forward!!), I don't know what to make of it. Is it really a flash forward? Is it a dream? Jack mentioned to the other doctor to "get his dad", but his dad is dead! So, was that the ramblings of someone on OxyCodone, or are to think something fishy is going on?

I've dissed the show in the past, but they are officially back. Kudos to the cast/crew for really turning things around.

"Ditto" on the wows. I totally didn't see it coming that it was a flash forward and not a flash back. Though it is puzzling about Jack mentioning his dad.

I hope Charlie somehow gets rescued, but that probably won't happen. I really liked him. I cried my eyes out last week, but surprisingly didn't cry last night.

So much more I could say. That was quite a season finale. It's going to be hard waiting for the next season to start.

It kinda irks me when people say this because last nights episode was by far, NOT the only good episode this season. Sure the season started kind of weird but since it came back from it's hiatus it's been consistently great.

I didn't say yesterday's episode was the only good episode. The first 6 episodes pretty much blew, but since it came back from hiatus, it's been back to it's original form.

I definitely think the fact that they know the definite endpoint to the series is a huge plus to the show, and it shows.

Now we just have to wait 'til 2008 for the show to come back!!
