Flash Gordon = Flush Garbage

Ok...when I think of Flash Gordon I think of that show where the hot brunette runs around in a white spandex suit...there I admitted my preformed ideas right up front. I understood that this would be a new take on Flash Gordon (misgiving #1). When I heard that the blonde guy from Smallville was the leading man (misgiving #2) I thought I would be open minded and give it a shot. Imagine my reaction to no one talking about this show anywhere (misgiving #3) and I still thought I would try the show on for size --sometimes there are jewels in the rough that people ignore (a.k.a Friday Night Lights).

Believe me when I tell you that it is for good reasons that people have ignored this show. The opening of the first episode should grab your attention or at least have you lasooed with a little bit of interest.... ...I think I may have made it 20 minutes into the first episode but the script, the acting and the effects were so bleedin' bad that I had to shut it off. Now, Painkiller Jane was pretty bad but I at least made it through the first and half of the second episode because I had a little interest. If you have trouble getting to sleep I highly recommend watching an episode of Flash Gordon...you'll be asleep in no time unless you get mad like I did...

Pissed off that show like Firefly got cancelled and that this piece of garbage even got to see a time slot for broadcasting.

People will watch ANYTHING these days.

I tried watching the 1st episode 3 times and each time I made to about the 20 minute mark and I quit each time. I tried the second episode once but quit it also. To think I had high hopes for it.

What a orrible, horrible show. I can't believe it's from the same network that remade Battlestar. Ugh...

I'm thinking the SciFi channel is being run by several different people (mindsets).
That can be the only explanation for the diametric type of programming. I mean, you have wonderful shows like Stargate and Battlestar, but then "Who wants to be a Superhero". And don't even get me started on the wrestling. But everything in between is mostly dreck. I use to consider the Scifi channel the first place to check out what's coming on. Now it's a last resort.

Dude SciFi has had two redeemable shows ever, Farscape and Battlestar, beyond that it's a wasteland of shit.

I've enjoyed the Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis series, which have both have really good episodes that I think rival the best Star Trek seasons.

Eureka has also become a summer favorite for me, with a perfect blend of sci-fi, drama, and comedy. Love the humor in this show, and the actors are perfectly cast.

But yeah, Flash Gordon is horrendous. I'm still recording and watching the episodes, but will probably quit when the networks start up again.

Ok, so I went on the hunt for the brunette hotty in a one piece spandex jump suit...I was wrong. The show wasn't Flash Gordon it was Buck Rogers and the name of the actress is....Erin Grey.

This show definitely sucks hard. I'd read somewhere that it was rushed into production, which I guess could explain a few things, but probably not enough. The show looks like it has no budget, which is ludicrous for a "Flash Gordon" project (that is, I guess, if you're not going to go for a cheaply cheesy FG project).

Instead, it's like someone took "Flash Gordon" and stripped everything out of it that made it fun and unique AND THAT COST MONEY and slapped it up on Friday nights.
