Your TV Top 10: Comedies

We have so many of these for film, but none for TV. That’s a grave injustice that I decided to remedy.

Fire away.

Don't watch much comedy on TV anymore. Most networks are scaling back, and the rest of it pretty unfunny.

Only ones I find worth watching now is the NBC Thursday Night block:
1. My Name Is Earl
2. 30 Rock
3. The Office
4. Boston Legal (the best hourlong show with comedy - Spader & Shatner rule )

The last season of Family Guy was pretty bad. I don't think I laughed once during the entire season.

As for older shows on DVD, there were plenty. Three's Company remains one of my favorites. Can't believe all the sexual innuendo they were able to get away with on TV in the late 1970s.

It was a really funny show. I have all three seasons on DVD, and I love getting to watch it whenever I want.

Really hard to put them in any sort of order, but...

1. The Simpsons
2. Futurama
3. Home Movies
4. The Muppet Show
5. Family Guy (though I've been really disappointed with the last season or two)
6. Space Ghost Coast to Coast
7. Aqua Teen Hunger Force
8. Invader ZIM
9. The Daily Show/The Colbert Report
10.3rd Rock from the Sun

EDIT: Almost forgot The Muppet Show, so I put it in and dropped Boston Legal, which is really more of a drama.

Also, only two episodes have aired so far, but I think Loren Bouchard's (Home Movies, Dr. Katz) new Adult Swim show, "Lucy: Daughter of the Devil" will be on this list in the future.

I really don't get comments like this. For me, every season sees the show getting funnier and funnier. How people can see it as falling off is beyond me.

It just feels like they're getting lazy sometimes. Whereas the pre-cancellation seasons, and some episodes since the return, were full of one-of-a-kind humor and references that would come from all over the place, more often these days, it's referencing itself too often and relying on shock for the sake of shock. Don't get me wrong, I still love the show, and it hasn't been as significant a drop in quality as post-season 10-Simpsons, but I do see it as not quite what it used to be.

And God, am I sick of Herbert...a one-joke character whose joke wasn't that funny to begin with and is used far too often.

I agree on Family Guy being so-so since its return. Don't get me wrong its still funny as hell but sometimes it tries to hard by getting way to weird and throwing bleeped out cuss words here and there.

My List (in no specific order)

1) Scrubs
2) Futurama
3) Married with Children
4) Puppets Who Kill
5) Reno 911
6) Simpsons
7) Daily Show/Colbert Report
8) NewsRadio
9) Family Guy
10) South Park

3) The Office
4) Friends
5) Family Guy
6) Futurama
7) Aqua Teen Hunger Force
8) Sealab
