Well, I guess it was the best after basically ONE night of new shows...

I've liked Kevin McKidd since Trainspotting, and I loved him in Rome... but I really liked the mystery behind the time-travelling.

It does seem to be a bit like Quantum Leap or Early Edition (being like the 1st one isn't a bad thing), and while I'm not a huge fan of how he travels through time (wouldn't someone question him just disappearing? Like at the end, the woman seemingly saw him just out and out vanish into thin air), but I'll keep watching.

Was Kevin McKidd in Trainspotting? I gotta watch that again. I didn't really notice him until Kingdom of Heaven and the Rome mini-series.

I never did see Quantum Leap, but I'm reading a lot of references to that series.

I enjoyed the opener. I was wondering how they would write it such that they could make this time-traveling a regular occurrence. Well, I liked the secret reveal of old flame Livia surviving the plane crash and knowing about (and perhaps causing) Dan's time traveling.

I'll keep watching since there's nothing else I watch in that timeslot.

I'm not sure she saw him disappear. I think she saw him walk between a group of people and out of site. He didn't disappear until he was within the crowd.
So, then that means the people in the crowd should have noticed him disappearing.
But whatever, no sci-fi show is perfect.

Yeah, I liked it too.

I'd rather have Studio 60 back, but this seems to be a worthy successor.

I went into it expecting very little (I didn't even originally plan on watching it at all), but I found myself enjoying it. I'll stick around.

After watching the second episode last night I have to say this is by far the best new show of the season. Loved how they factor in practical problems of his jumping, i.e getting on the No Fly list after vanishing from the plane. As an actor I'm digging the hell out of McKidd. And I like how this is like Quantum Leap but with a seemingly grander story with a cohesive arc that they're hinting at.

I'm also interested to see how they handle the 89 quake next week, as I clearly remember that day (almost died then after being pinned by a large bookshelf when I was younger).

Only pet peeve i have is that they say he vanishes from a 747 on a flight from SFO to PDX, uh they don't fly 747s unless it's international flights and SFO to Portland is usually smaller planes, wtf?! Also the hospital they go to is supposed to be in SF but that's CLEARLY the LA Convention center. lol

I forgot to set my DVR to record the second episode, and when I realized it I figured, eh, don't bother. If the season turns out to be good, then I'll pick it up on DVD.

I love this show. I missed it this week and forgot to record it. I actually saw the pilot about a month and a half ago. I downloaded it. Somehow it ended up where I download stuff. Anyway, I love the show.

Wait a second. This isn't Test and Off-Topic. Where am I?

I have started watching this show and really like it. The dynamic between the brothers and the wife and Livia. I really think that Gretchen Egolf should be nominated for an Emmy, because she does just as good a job as McKidd in her role. The brother Jack is also a good actor. I really dig this show, and I think it's different enough from Quantum Leap to be original in its own right. With QL, he was always jumping from place to place and never going home. But with Journeyman, he always has to come home and deal with the mess that's been caused at home.

I haven't seen Monday's episode yet, but it looks like it's a good one. You'd think he'd listen to Livia and let things alone.

That's a shame, because I think it's much better than Bionic Woman and probably cheaper to produce, though I'm betting they keep BW going.

Journeyman is one of my favorite new shows this season, but its ratings have been pretty bad throughout the whole year. There was talk that this past Monday's episode might have been the last to air, but it seems that there will be another new episode in 2 weeks.

There were 12 episodes finished before the strike halted production (this past Monday was #10), so it seems likely that NBC will air all of the episodes. Its future is unknown at this point, as the ratings do justify cancellation, but critics and fans have agreed that the show has been getting better with the last few episodes.

This is fucking bullshit!!! The best new show of the year is getting the axe? Get rid of Bionic Woman, which is boring and dull. I knew the writers strike would be the death of Journeyman. Way to go dumbasses.

I highly doubt they will air the last episode. Like before, the studio will hold it back and use it as a selling point on the eventual DVD release as a way to entice people to buy it with an un-aired episode(s).

According to this, they will be airing the 12th, and presumably final episode.

Quote:
Journeyman Fans--

NBC has decided to air the 12th episode ("Perfidia") on Wednesday, December 19th at ten o'clock. That means our 10th episode will air on Monday the 10th ("Home by Another Way"), the 11th will air on 17th ("The Hanged Man").

The decision to air the 12th episode had a lot to do with the passion of our fans through SaveJourneyman.net, the online petition and letters and emails to NBC executives.

And is it true you can vote once a day for the People's Choice Awards?

There's still no news on our long term future, but we can promise you this: three terrific episodes inside of ten days. Oh, yeah, and you'll get some answers, too.

Your comments and pro-active attempts to save the show are very much appreciated by me and my fellow Executive Producer Alex Graves, Kevin McKidd and the cast, writers and crew. But more importantly, it's working.

But don't rest. We need you. We want a back nine--and beyond.

Thanks again,

Kevin Falls

I'm with a lot of you guys. Thss along with Life and Pushing Daisies have been the best new series to air on tv this year. Journeyman i just love and can't see why no one wants to watch it. IT KICKS ASS!!! The acting is great and the little twists in between have been great and show us where they can take this when or if they want too. Hopefully NBC will find it in their hearts to give this a 2nd chance when the strike finally ends.

That's it guys. Last episode most likely to ever air just ran, and it was great. Man I already feel sad, this show was really really starting to build it's on mythology. Crap like Bionic Woman gets another season but this gets hosed, whiskey tango foxtrot?

I'm hoping that this is one of the few series helped by the writer's strike. Maybe for next fall, NBC will realize that it would be easier to just get this series back instead of coming up with yet another stupid reality show. I doubt it, but I'm hoping.

The ending was done really well with some kind of resolution, but leaving it open ended. I just had a gut feeling that it would end with her finally seeing him "leap", which was fitting if it indeed is the ending.

Who knows. It happened once with Jericho, it can happen again. NBC needs to man up and bring this back. Kevin Falls needs to pull a Joss Whedon and not let this die.

Exactly, the inclusion that more than just Livia and Dan traveling was a huge revelation, that it's not some big science experiment and something grander, i.e with the professor revealing the idea of the Aztecs and previous cultures being proof of rifts in time. Katie finally seeing him disappear.

That was such a cathartic moment as she has always trusted her husband, but trust but verify seemed to be what she needed. I always had this feeling that the writers were unsure of Katie for a while, that she was the 'other woman' and that Dan would end up with Livia again. But it's fantastic that he made his peace with Livia, and really did love Zack and Katie, and that their family is what kept him grounded, i.e her comment of "I'll leave a light on." at the end was just touching.

Honestly, this show got better and better. And it's sad because they could have just said, "were getting canceled, time to just pack it in and not give a shit" but they instead turned some fantastic last few episodes. Honestly, I'm pretty sad to see a show go, things were finally clicking. Dan and his brother finally reconciled things, everything was moving towards a greater goal, and instead now we get American Gladiators and more shit programming. Thanks WGA and thanks NBC!

This is indeed one of the best shows to air this year and sadly if that was the last episode it had a fitting ending. I also love the facts of the rifts from the past hundreds and thousands of years that coud of been from travelers too. The whole idea of them maybe sending him way back then just (for an episode even) would of been cool to see. You grew to like and even love the characters and sadly they are probably lost for good. I shall also keep the light on just in case we do see Dan once again.

I will miss Journeyman, but I have to say that they did end the series well. It could be continued, but there is a nice conclusion to the series if this is it. Oh well, I guess we'll have more Dancing with the Stars.
