Who's excited about Tin Man on Sci Fi

Who's excited about Tin Man on Sci Fi. It looks like an adventure series. But I saw today that it might be a modern Wizard of Oz. That's weird.

For whatever reason, I happened to stop fast-forwarding through commercials when the spot for Tin Man was running. Previously, I had only catch the last second of it. It certainly looked interesting, though I have not decided whether to record it or not.

I saw the making of it today on Bravo. It looks like a strange and interesting mini-series.

EDITED; It is a new twist on The Wizard of OZ. Looks like it may have potential. The Tin Man

Just became aware of it while watching Battlestar Galactica: Razor over the weekend. Looks intriguing, a serious remake of the Wizard of Oz, with the adorable Zooey Deschanel playing the lead.

It is a 3-part mini-series that will air from Dec. 2-4, at 9PM, with multiple reruns. Not sure if I'll watch it live, as it may conflict with other shows that I normally watch, but I plan to check it out.

I'd watch this just for Zooey Deschanel and Alan Cumming, but original SciFi stuff usually reeks.

I'll give a chance with zero expectations, thus making my enjoyment factor, well, uh... I'll give it a chance.

Tinman

it looks like it might contain the quirkiness of something like Dr. Who

Zooey Deschanel because she's a good actress?

Did anybody else watch this? I was pleased overall. It was good enough that I actually watched it all "live" (only giving it enough of a head-start to FFW commercials) and stayed up late for each of the 3 parts. Some things didn't seem well executed, but I also went in with low expectations and nothing in particular stands out in my mind at the moment, except maybe the end. I guess I would say it felt like the CATV mini series that is it at times. The ending just felt very abrupt, especially given the length of the entire piece. It felt like they threw part of it away to fit it in the time slot. If nothing else, Kathleen Robertson is hot!

Didn't watch it yet, due to conflicts with my regular TV viewing, but plan to watch it this Sunday when they air all 3 parts back-to-back-to-back.

Heard the ratings were fantastic, best ever for any show on the Sci-Fi Channel, something like 6-7 million viewers.

I just watched the first episode on scifi.com. Do they pick the people to act in these things from the "We can't act bins" of the dollar store. The writing was awful. Just some of the dialog was..... well it was awful. Yeah whoever that chick was that was playing DG should maybe stick to a job that doesn't require her to speak.

I'm sure Sci fi is desperately looking for a BattleStar Galactica replacement but this for sure ain't it.

I quite enjoyed this. The acting wasn't magnificent, but so what? I still liked it. Yes the ending was abrupt, but it was meant to be a series at first. Maybe the had to rush an ending. Either way, I would like to have it on DVD and hope for some extended footage.

I watched the whole thing...I didn't think it was anything too special, but not bad like most TV mini-series. Zoey was fine, I thought the overall casting was really good and the FX was pretty good too. I might pick it up if its released in an HD format.
