Now I feel bad. I had to go look it up on Wikipedia. Can't say I ever heard of it until the CGI movie, even under its other title, The Sky Is Falling. I guess it's more well-known than Jack and the Beanstalk, but I never read a children's book or saw a cartoon or movie about it when I was growing up.

Regarding the smokey monster, I think Ben just shut down all the defenses that usually protected everyone from it. Keamy did force Alex to shut down the electromagnetic fence that kept it out.

At least the writers didn't forget about the smokey monster. Thought it might've been forgotten about like the 4-toed statue.

Another great episode last night, probably my favorite one for Jack so far. I've never been that impressed with Jack's flashback episodes, but his flashforwards have definitely been more interesting, and seeing him with Kate and Aaron was really enjoyable.

Obviously, a lot more happens as we see Kate and Jack separated in the season 3 finale flashforward, but now we know that it's probably not Sawyer's funeral, as he doesn't leave the island, and it's likely that Aaron was who Kate was referring to in that finale that she had to get back to.

What the favor that Kate is doing for Sawyer is indeed a mystery, and who was she talking to about it? Lots of good stuff.

What are the visions of Christian Shepherd? Jack sees his father in his flashforward, while Claire sees him in the present. And Claire disappears. Is this the last we see of her? Her character has sort of become superfluous since Charlie's death. It is kind of cool to see Sawyer being protective of her, in addition to Kate and Hurley. It seems he's finally bonding with the rest of the group instead of being a lone maverick.

I wasn't sure of season 4 could top season 3, but all of the episodes, with maybe the exceptions of the Kevin Johnson/Michael and Kate episodes, have been absolutely great this season.

I wonder what's happening with Sayid and Desmond and Michael. Since Keamy and his men, along with Frank, are on the island, are they being held prisoner on the ship, or is anyone watching them?

Nice to see Jin become a bit more important, figuring out Charlotte could understand Korean, and convincing her to take Sun when the next chopper comes to the island.

another mind job of an episodes. I seriously want to meet the guys who come up with this shit that intrigues me from week to week.

I never would have thought after watching the first season that this thing would turn into this and last this long. Hell I'm trying to figure out how they're going to get through 2 more seasons when they could tie almost everything up in a few more episodes, if this was a full 22 episode season.

So Richard Alpert A.) was Locke's father, and B.) hasn't aged a day since the 1950's? And Michael still can't get shot...

I don't think Richard is Locke's dad, Locke's grandmother didn't recognize him as the guy her daughter was seeing. I think they somehow were tracking Locke and when they heard he was going to be born they wanted to see what "skills" he had, hence the little test.

Although I am surprised to see Christian in the cabin along w/ Claire

My theory now is that Richard is an island "ghost." He is a person that can stay young forever because he is already "dead." Just like other ghosts can interact with people (see: Charlie, Mr. Ecko's brother, Christian, etc.), even off the island, I think that it seems the most logical explanation for Richard at this point. Richard simply does the will of the island.

Moving the island could be how Ben has been able to keep it hidden from Whidmore for so long. However, it wouldn't explain how the island continues to get food supplies from the Dharma Initiative. I did like this episode though. It gave some context for Locke and the island, and it also showed us Richard again.

I was under the impression she did know who Alpert was, and was just lying.

BTW...was that a picture of Smoky on young Locke's wall?

Well it could go either way although I'm leaning towards not knowing, but Anothy Cooper is definately Locke's dad.

I did notice that and wondered if people would notice that that is the Smoke Monster.

Programming note:

I saw that the May 15th is the start of the season finale, it will be on hour. The remaining 2 hours will air on May 29th to finish the season

Yes, after all, it would be very unlikely that Locke would have been a valid donor for the old man if he was not related...i.e. his son.

Another great episode last night, with a collective flashforward of the Oceanic Six, with Aaron being counted as the 6th survivor. Nice to Michelle Forbes make a brief appearance as the Oceanic rep at the press conference.

I was especially moved by the scene where Jack finds out from his father's mistress that Claire is his daughter. Even though we already knew it, seeing how Jack reacts to the news was intense. It also made me wonder what Claire's fate will be, as do the other Oceanic 815 passengers survive on the island? Does the island "move", as Ben states that the Orchid station can do? It seems that Claire may become a more important character than I was expecting her to be.

Monrozombi, this season was intended to be 16 episodes, along with the next 2 seasons. We're only getting 14 this season due to the strike, but the producers have said that those missing 2 will be added to the next 2 seasons, so seasons 5 & 6 will be 17 episodes each.

Yeah i've been reading that they're going to give us they promised so I'm very excited for that.

I'm excited for them getting off the island but afraid at the same time. I said to Mrs. Monro last night that while watching S1 I often wondered if they'd get off the island and figured if they did that it'd be the last episode. I never expected Lost to be this good and 2 keep us intrigued 4 seasons later and with 34 more episodes to go, they obviously have something in mind that will keep us watching. It's nice to know that they have this mapped out so not only to keep the fans happy but to help retain all the stars till the end which helps when a show ends with the same cast.

Great finale of Lost last night, even though it was probably the first one that didn't create more new mysteries nor leave us with a major cliffhanger ending. It did pretty much resolve almost all of the subplots and flashforwards that we were introduced to this season, and even though I could predict how most scenes were going to happen, I still enjoyed it immensely.

So many plot points, but don't know where to start, so these will be in any random order as it occurs to me:

Loved the reunion scene with Desmond and Penny. I don't know why I've grown fond of these supporting characters, but out of any TV series, I've really wanted these characters to get back together, and it was a great scene when they were reunited. Is this the end of their story on Lost, though?

Couldn't believe Jin actually died. I always thought he would be one of those survivors who had to stay on the island for some reason.

Hurley lied to Walt about Michael still being alive on the island. Does this off-the-island Walt possess any seemingly supernatural gifts as on-the-island Walt seemed to, and does he believe Hurley? Will this plot point come up again in the last 2 seasons, or can we consider the Walt-Michael storyline done?

So what time does season 5 occur? Since all of the season 4 flashforwards seem to have been finally explained with the scenes in the finale, does season 5 now take place entirely in 2007 and later, or do we get anymore flashforwards inbetween the rescue and the present? Seems like a shift to the present of 2007 and after is where most scenes should take place, although for characters like Sawyer, Juliet, Locke, Richard and the Others. Claire and the ghost/reincarnation of Christian Shepherd are still unresolved, so we'll likely see them again.

What happened to Daniel, Charlotte, and Miles? Daniel and Charlotte were on a boat when the island moved, so did they move too? Do we really care, as they weren't major characters.

How many figured John Locke as the guy in the casket? He always seemed a likely choice as one who Kate wouldn't want to be at his funeral, but Jack would feel obligated in some manner.

Where was Ben climbing down to that would have freezing temperatures underground? Is the island an alien spaceship that crashed years ago, and the Dharma Initiative was attempting to tap into its advanced technologies to warp/distort the space/time continuum with teleportation and time travel capabilities?

My mind hasn't been racing this hard and fast for any TV show in quite a long time. Hard to believe we'll have to wait 8 months for next season. This season has been my favorite for Lost, and one of the best seasons for any TV series I've seen.

It just occured to me that the island having the ability to move now explains how the pirate ship in season 1 got landlocked in the middle of the island, as the island was probably elsewhere at the time, and when it moved back then, that ship happened to be at the location of where the island would move to.

Yup, alien spaceship, that's what the island is. Or maybe I'm too eagerly awaiting the next season of Stargate: Atlantis.

I don't think there plot is over with. Remember when Sun came to Widmore and told him that they weren't the only six to make it off the island. Also I would like to see more with Frank. I can't wait for the next season. Lost is by far my favorite show on TV.
