Friday Night Lights (Season 3)

NBC has inked a deal with DirectTV to bring FNL back for a 3rd Season. The lil hiccup in this, is that DirectTV gets to air all 13 episodes first before NBC can begin airing them. So this means that FNL wont return to the airwaves on NBC till December-Janurary.

Im just stoked that its coming back. Period.

I am stoked as well. I really like FNL and think that the acting in it very well could be the best on TV due to the way that they do the filming. If you are interesting in learning more about their technique look it up on wikipedia...I thought it was fascinating and spoke to the excellent acting craft of the actors.

I really enjoy FNL, but I don't understand the logic here. I don't think it's a good enough show to get people to sign up for DirecTV just so they can watch the episodes a few months early. Maybe this would work with a show like Lost, but FNL?

I'm under the impression it has more to do with taking some of the expense of producing the show off of solely NBC's shoulders, and less to do with getting people to get DirecTV.

I love this show, but no way in hell I'm going to get DirecTV just to see it early. I can't think of any show ever that I would do that for, especially since I can just wait a bit and buy the episodes on DVD.

But hey, it means more FNL, and... more Minka Kelly.

Lets hope theres more Minka Kelly. She was woefully underused in Season 2.
