Canceled Shows for Fall 2008

Shows A-Z | TheFutonCritic.com - The Web's Best Television Resource

These are the canceled shows that were on this season and will be gone next season. I was disappointed that these shows got cut:

Moonlight
Journeyman
October Road

I thought these were excellent programs, and in the case of Moonlight, actually had good ratings. Oh well.

Yeah, the strike did doom a few series that might've survived. I liked Women's Murder Club, and that had pretty solid ratings before the strike.

One show that I started watching during the strike that did barely survive is Reaper, which will be a mid-season replacement next year.

I liked Journeyman, too, as it really started to get better as the season progressed. But the ratings were just too low.

Most of the others shows that I watched that got canceled, I could tell that they weren't going to survive.

Yeah, I like watching Reaper. Bret Harrison is a great actor, and I loved that show he was on before, The Loop. Reaper was probably teetering on the chopping block, but the sole goal for the CW is to appeal to the 14-26 girl group. Reaper I guess falls into that interest group, so we'll see if it even goes on a full slate of episodes next season.

Don't worry fellas. You still have My Head Is Always Tilted Horatio!

He's enough to make me wet.

I read that "Shark" got canceled as well. That show was working pretty well. It had some hangups for a bit but I still liked it.

I enjoyed Shark, too, but it wasn't a high-priority show for me to watch. The show did always cast hot-looking women. Sarah Carter, Sophina Brown, Jeri Ryan, Paula Marshall in a guest stint for the pregnant Jeri Ryan. A recent episode had Madchen Amick and Lisa Sheridan in it. The show felt a bit like CBS's version of Las Vegas.

Maybe not. Did you see the season finale last night? It appeared that Horacio got shot dead. I'm sure he'll find his way back somehow.

Not sure if anyone on here even watches Bones, but it had a pretty good season finale with the revelation that one of the team members was the serial killer thay have been hunting down the entire season.

Still somewhat shocked at who it turned out to be.

As for cancelled shows, the 2 big ones I will miss: Journeyman and Jericho. Cane was a pretty good show. But even while watching it I knew it would get cancelled. Now I will never know who the killer was. And for Las Vegas, at least have a 2 hour movie to wrap it up. Dont leave it hanging like that. Even if the show is dorky and no one likes it, I still want closure.

It figures the wife and I liked Moonlight. The final episode was a great cliffhanger too.

I read that CBS is bringing back The Unit in the fall. It will be moving to Sunday at 9pm I believe, but it will be coming back.

Pretty psyched about that.

Glad to hear it. When there weren't any new episodes after the strike, I thought the show might have been axed.

Heh, there was no way you could have known.

Here's what I thought:

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
I don't think that Wolfe is involved in Horatio's shooting. They did a good job of making it seem that way. I wonder if Julia was involved and wants to set up that slimy husband guy with the blame. Lots of shocks in that episode though. The hot ME lady getting shot in the first few minutes. Then Horatio getting shot in the end. I'm guessing he was wearing armor, and it was a through and through shot, so he'll be fine. I liked the fade away on the sunglasses with the gunshot in them. Kind of explains the giveaway that was done from all the previews throughout the season of CSI Miami where it showed that image.
