Season 4 arrived in a beautiful deep blue box, so I have lots of box art to post. But first, I will start with the menu, since we haven't seen any samples from season 4 yet.

When I first looked at the Main Menu, I clicked an episode name and it played immediatly, It did not go to a sub-menu. This was great, it wont be as bad to navigate as season 3. But then I thought, where were the Scene Selections? Well they are all in the Extras Menu next the the episode name.

The Simpsons Season 4 has some of the best episodes of the series and this dvd is loaded! A better menu system. (Each little picture on the Menu has a funny random animation each time you click) This is the best Simpsons release so far, they gathered a lot of cool features. And as Matt Groening says in his introduction, they took a long time to make sure all episodes had commentary and that they are currently already working on Season 5 set to get it out as fast as possible.

I hope you enjoyed this look through The Simpsons DVD, if anyone has any other questions, or If you wanna see some particular menu, just let me know

I just finished Disc 1 and the PQ and Audio seem great to me, however I dont have great equipment to test it on.

When I get further into the features, I'll let you know what is on there.

HOMER: U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A.!

One of the best seasons of one of the best shows of the 90's, great-looking packaging (although part of me wishes that Fox had switched to those kick-ass slimline keep cases that they use on the Futurama and King Of The Hill sets

), and what sounds like a less-cumbersome menu interface. The 15th can't get here fast enough.

I can't wait to play "Dial 'Z' For Zombies" right before I watch Dawn Of The Dead again.

Disappointing News!

I listened to the two commentaries that suppoosedly had Conan commentary on them, but sadly Conan only appeared on New Kid on The Block. In Marge vs The Monorail, they rehash the same exact Conan stories for the first ten minutes, and Conan never appears in the commentary. Loooks like a misprint in the book. I am disappointed because Conan was funny in the first commentary.

According to the press release Marge vs The Monorail has two commentarys, have you checked both of them?

It's there and its really funny!

I used the Audio select button to get to it. Conan is in NY recording the commentary and interacting with the creators via headphones in Los Angeles.

I have no fully gone through all the features, but the Simpson vs Bush is about the response to Barbara Bush's statements that the Simpsons were stupid.

I enjoyed it, and thanks for posting it... I look forward to the set because I don't think I have ever seen any season 4 episodes... I quit watching the new simpsons a long, long time ago, and I never watch re-runs either... none of the titles seem familliar.

Can I be bothered to buy this?

Haven't watched any of the furst three apart from when I reviewed them for DVD Toons and they're on TV so much I end up catching re-runs and thinking "I should watch these off those discs I have".

Plus, by the time they get all these out, we'll easily be up to season 20...can I really see myself wanting/needing TWENTY seasons of The Simpsons on my shelves? When would I ever watch them what with all the other stuff coming out as well?

Am I mad?

Another question: Who are some of the people in the commentaries (i.e. cast)? I see on one of your scans that Hank Azaria is on one. Is that the only one with him? Are there any with Harry Shearer?

(Shearer and Azaria were MIA on Season 3)

To be honest, I was planning on going up to season 9 for the DVDs. Seasons 10 and beyond are okay, but nothing really memorable. I'd only buy them just so I can hear what kinds of stuff the writers were smoking when they wrote such episodes as Simpson Safari and Kill the Alligator and Run.
