Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride"

I think i was about to wet myself when i saw this image (yeah its from Aint it Cool News but still i couldn't ignore this image)

Then from JoBlo.com

Quote:
Scheduled for release on Halloween of 2005 (duh!), Tim Burton's latest macabre participation in a stop-motion animation feature entitled CORPSE BRIDE just moved itself past BATMAN BEGINS as my most anticipated film of next year with the addition of one Jonathan Depp (aka Johnny) as the lead voice in the film to be co-directed and produced by Burton, who also created a similar movie back in 1993 (one of my favorite films of all-time) called THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. The rest of the cast of voices would include Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson, Albert Finney, Joanna Lumley, Christopher Lee, while music composer Danny Elfman would return as the man behind the music.

The screenplay is co-written by Caroline Thompson, who penned both EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. What's the film about? Set in a 19th-century European village, Victor (Depp) travels to the underworld for a quickie wedding to a mysterious corpse bride (Bonham Carter) while his living wife (Watson) pines for his return. Did I mention...I'm there! The film would be Depp's second movie project with his frequent collaborator Burton next year, as the two are already set to film CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY together as well (tentative release date on that: July 2005)

AWESOME!!!!!

I guess you guys never read my Animated-News page, huh?

We've been reporting on this since Christmas (which doesn't mean I'm not as excited as you about this one).

Pete Kozachik is cinematrographer (Nightmare!) and Elfman is back for music (Nightmare!), so it's going to be good.

And who just got made head of Vinton Studios?? HENRY SELICK (Nightmare director!), so even though he may not have a direct role on it, you can be sure that the gang are walking in the same circles again.

BTW, here's that official shot, sans logo and a bit brighter:

Friggin' sweet. Seeing as how The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my top-five favorite animated films of all time, I couldn't be happier at this news. Two Burton/Depp/Elfman collaborations in a single year?

Well we have our first Teaser Trailer for the movie now.

Check it out here.

Looking pretty good and the animtion for a stop motion movie is really smooth looking. I wonder if some CGI enhancements were used for the movie? If not, then awesome job

NEW TRAILER

Finally a new trailer and its looking sharp. Expect this trailer on all prints starting next week on Charlie and the Chocolate factory

EDIT NOTE:

If not you have a pretty good chance of seeing it tomorrow on some prints of The Fantastic Four as well

Poster Art

Also banners will be seen soon in local theaters pretty close to the one above except the are seperated down the center with each character pretty much hugging the corners of the outer edges.

Well the Official Corpse Bride website has gone live. The best part is that they have 6 songs from the soundtrack on the site. Some are a bit weak but i am very addicted to "Remains of the Day" Give it listen and tell me what you think.

God bless you Danny Elfman for what should be anothe rgreat soundtrack.

I love that Danny Elfman is doing vocals again like he did in Nightmare. So far I like Tears to Shed the best.

I saw the Corpse Bride, the weekend it opened and it was great. I still like NBC better but I will be greatly looking for it on DVD next year.

Im surprised more people havent chimed in on this movie. I saw it and thought it was great. The only complaints Ive read from critics is that its too short, but I thought it was just about right. Definately another Tim Burton movie I add to my collection.

I'm SHOCKED there isn't any discussion about this.

How can this movie fail?

I absolutely loved the film, although Danny Elfman's music, while pleasant enough, doesn't match up to his superb work on The Nightmare Before Christmas. But the superb character designs meshed perfectly with the excellent voice cast. I'll definitely be putting this one on my annual Halloween movie rotation.

And am I the only one who found Emily to be weirdly sexy?
