new Robotech series
just read that there's a new series starting development for release in 2005. Here's the blurb:
With the unexpected conclusion to the war with the Invid, the people of Earth are finally liberated and an expedition prepares to search for Admiral Hunter's missing fleet. However, another mystery unfolds as a deadly new adversary threaten to test the limits of the Expeditionary Force's use of Shadow Technology. Not every Robotech fan is digging this, especially considering the history of this series... but what the hell - this is my favourite anime show of all time, and even though I love the open ending to New Generation, this would be a great "what if" tribute... more news to be released at comic-con in a few weeks...

Is this the same series that has been in the works since 2002? I'm a huge Robotech fan, but I'm not overly optimistic about this even coming out.

Re: new Robotech series

I recently bought Yukikaze, and those aerial dogfights were pretty sweet. If the new Robotech has anything like that, I'm all over it. I'm just curious. Is this Shadow Force concept based off a novel? I've read the Sentinels novels and that final novel (End of the Circle, Circle of the Rubicon, I forget the exact title, but something like that), and those were pretty good. Were there any other novels, and is this Shadow Force based off any of them?

There's an awful lot of speculation going on in the official robotech forums (here, for instance)
