Possible Disney's Cinderella Platinum DVD Cover Art

Got this from the IGN Boards where one of the MODS found these leaked insider possible covers for the Ocober 2005 release. Just thought i would show and see which one everyone like the best. Go from Left to Right Labeled 1 , 2 , 3. Bottom Left to right 4 and 5

Personally i think the 1st one sucks badly. I was kind of stuck on the 3rd and 4th cover art, but in the end i went with the 4th because it has the Glass Shoe.

Well first off, they all bother me because they say both "Platinum Edition" and "Special Edition" on the cover. That's overkill.

With that out of the way, I'm in the same boat as you SilentBob. I like the 3rd and 4th. I like the carriage on the 3rd cover, and I like the slipper on the 4th. The 5th cover combines both of those elements, but does Cinderella ever hold the slipper like that? And I like the image of her dancing with the Prince. So I have to choose which story element I like more, the slipper or the carriage. Ultimately, I like the carriage, so the 3rd cover gets my vote.

I like the 5th simply because it isn't "as" cluttered and it features really the main characters of the film. While Prince Charming is important, the story is really about Cind-y and the mice. It also feature the glass slipper. In all the others you have Cinderella's back to the "people". You can't see her face. When people are looking at this on the store shelf, the face is going to catch the eye. Prince Charming facing the people isn't going to help sell it. You have to go with what people know, and people know that face.

That and 5 seems to match Snow White as well.

In the end, it just seemed alot sharper and cleaner.

But lord, that's alot of blue.

It may be like Lion King and Aladdin and in fact have new footage, which would make it not only a Platinum Edition of the original, but through branching make it a Special Edition (ala George Lucas) as well.

yeah, the movie's called Cinderella, so putting the BACK OF HER HEAD on the cover would be retarded (well, then again, Disney does employ monkeys to design their dvd covers - see Black Hole and Last Flight of Noah's Ark for proof).
As much as I hate big heads on covers, I have to go with the 5th one, as it's the only one where you can actually see her whole face...

Um, by the by....I haven't seen the film in a long time, but why are there 2 Prince Charmings? The red-head in 1 with the tassle jacket and the dark haired-gold shimmer jacket. Can someone explain?

Its just a screw-up. There's only one Prince Charming. That first cover is a mess anyways, so I'd just ignore it. He looks right on the other covers.

I voted #2. 5 was cool and all, but the main picture wasn't even from the movie. When is she in her Ball Dress holding the slipper? Doesn't happen.

I went with the second, which showcases the definitive moment of the film.

It is the one I would like most.

I'm not voting because honestly I don't like any of them. The only one that shows her face in it's entirety is the fifth one but it's a silly cover. If I had to vote i'd vote for #2 but I don't understand why they only show her from the back and we get a full view of the Princess' face, seems kinda silly to me.

They're all pretty average and all pretty sucky.

WHY DOES EVERY HOME VIDEO INCARNATION OF CINDERS ALWAYS SHOW THE BACK OF HER HEAD AND GIVE MORE ATTENTION TO THE LAME AND NOT VERY FEATURED PRINCE CHARMING??

That said, I think the fourth would probably work best since it has all the elements, but that shoe should be flipped. Too much space on the right and it's all bunched up on the left too much with the mice.

BTW, I think the SE refers again to the newly restored print of the film rather than the disc*.

It's a Platinum Edition DVD release of "Cinderella: Special Edition".

*Why must we have this every year when a PE comes out??

Any update on the cover-art for this one, especially with the Aladdin disc coming out in a few weeks? I thought they might have a promo for this on there, even if it is a year in advance.

I haven't heard anything about it for the Aladdin DVD. If anything i would think something will be said/shown when they release the BAMBI Platinum Edition in March.

They went with the third option. In my copy of Bambi they have an ad for it.
