Looks nice. I like the main menu. At least it's something creative.

Any word on if the Shrek 3-D 15 min. short will be included on this DVD?

As such, it seems that Universal were pissed at DreamWorks for putting out their theme-park film on a disc, so it would seem that against early word, it will NOT turn up on the Shrek 2 DVD.
Of course, things could change, but at this time it looks as if Shrek 2 is a single disc release, so space is a priority (hence no DTS). Things COULD change and it could be a 2-disc set, and include the Shrek 3D film (though including those glasses again could be the thing that strikes against it - maybe just the "flat" version?). At the moment, and from what I have heard, things have been slimmed down, so it might be worth hunting that 3D disc down.

The menus are pretty nice actually, Brady Bunch style in a way.
I happen to get a bootleg release, and it actually had the completed and animated menus intact (although things like the special features, commentary etc were listed but inaccessible) I do not condone bootlegs (it was a gift from a friend visiting from LA.....) but i will say it looked nice. I havent watched the movie yet. I should watch part 1 first......

I'm surprised no one commented on this news yet from Bil Hunt of www.thedigitalbits.com : The link is here under the 8/5 Early and Late Updates.
"Here's the big news today - DreamWorks has officially announced the DVD release of its Shrek 2 for November 5th (yes, a Friday). There will be separate full frame and anamorphic widescreen versions (SRP $29.99 each), each a single-disc release and each with audio in English and French Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0. Look also for a Shrek: The Story So Far box set (SRP $54.99) which will include Shrek, Shrek 3-D, Shrek 2 and an exclusive Shrek 2 bonus disc only available in this collection (boy, DVD fans are gonna hate that). We'll bring you artwork and all the details on the extras as soon as they're available." and "Just a quick update on DreamWorks' Shrek 2. It's looking like the Shrek: The Story So Far box set (SRP $54.99) will include only the full frame versions of Shrek and Shrek 2. Shrek 3-D is only available in anamorphic widescreen, so that's what will be included in the box. Unfortunately, we believe that in order to get the bonus disc of Shrek 2 extras... you have to buy the box. We'll post more on this as we learn it. Stay tuned..." It looks like they are trying to pull an E.T. on us only worse. Krycek |

That digitalbits news is really disconcerting. It sounds like a chaotic mess of Shrek DVD's will soon be hitting the market. I already have the original 2-disc Shrek, so maybe I'll wait to see if there's a similar 2-disc set of Shrek 2 released sometime in the future.
