Everything about this box set looks incredible... except that Bender's eyes on the front cover are round balls instead of tubes... They are always tubes when he takes them out / they get knocked out.

A bittersweet day indeed. It's sweet having every Futurama episdoe in my hands. On the other hand I'm quite bitter that there should be many more.

Anyone else having the same problem as me with the plastic slipcasse? The paint is already coming off on mine, and I have only taken it out of the case ONCE!!

Thanks a lot Fox, for changing the packaging on the last volume. Ya couldn't just make all 4 a consistent set.

The outer packaging sucks... whoever's idea it was to do a cheaper version of the Toy Story set instead of finishing the series off as normal should be fired from DVD production and sent to lower tiers of blue collar success. Damn, what a bad idea...

Found two Easter Eggs:

-In the submenu for "Where No Fan Has Gone Before", highlight the "main menu" button, then press right. The episode picture will be replaced by a picture of the "Enterprise" version of the Planet Express. Press enter, and you'll be treated to some footage from some kind of sci-fi convention(?), with clips of exec producer David X. Cohen taking about how excited he was to get William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy to record together, followed by a clip of John Dimaggio demonstrating the origins of his Bender voice (Slim Pickens was an inspiration).

-In the submenu for "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", highlight the "play episode" button, then press up. The hands of the Robot Devil will appear on the right of the screen. Press enter, and you'll get to hear an audio-only table read for the entire episode (over a still from the opera finale), with David X. Cohen (who is almost inaudible) reading the stage directions for the cast, and someone subbing for John Dimaggio as Bender. Lots of extra gags that were cut for time. Be aware, though, that it's impossible to pause or fast-forward through it, so make sure you have 35 minutes to spare.

While it's very bittersweet that this is the end for the Planet Express crew, at least we have these wonderful DVD sets to treasure. As Bender might say, "Another classic sci-fi series gone before it's time."
