The Greatest Episode Of.......'The Simpsons' (Nomination Round)
Alright, so I thought I'd start a new competition over here at Toon Town to see what the 'filers believe is the greatest episode (or the number 1 favorite) of various animated TV shows.
This is the nomination round, and I will be accepting nominations for 2 days only. All episodes nominated will be given a chance in the competiton. Rules For Nomination Round: 1)If an episode has already been nominated DO NOT repeat it...either choose a different one or dont say anything. 2)Keep the junk to a minimum...though feedback and comments in a constructive manner are welcome. 3)If you would like to assist me in tallying votes, creating graphics or any other aspect of my little experimental competition, please PM me. For a complete episode guide visit http://www.thesimpsons.com |

"Bart's Girlfriend"
607 2F04 Original Airdate: 11/06/94 Bart falls in love with Reverend Lovejoy's daughter, Jessica. In an effort to impress her, Bart pretends to be polite and mannered, but he soon learns that what Jessica really likes about him is that he's a bad, bad boy. Together they pull numerous pranks and commit acts of vandalism, but things get out of hand when Jessica wants Bart to steal from the Springfield Community Church collection plate. The entire congregation accuses Bart of theft, and when the truth is revealed, Jessica is sent back to boarding school. Guest Star: Meryl Streep as Jessica Lovejoy. BEST. EPISODE. EVER. "There's only one thing to do at a time like this...STRUT" (Cue: Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive")

I have 2 favourites, but I don't know the titles of them...so I'll describe them and maybe someone can help out
The insane quatemalen chili pepper one, where Homer goes on a quest to find his soulmate after eating Chief Wiggum's chili. Not only is this episode hysterical, the animation is some of the best ever produced for the Simpsons. And SHORT SHORTS!! ah, just found the title: "El Viaje de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)". I truly believe the Simpsons was done after this episode, it never got as funny ever again. The other favourite is the one with all the short stories (22 tales of Springfield, or something like that). Lots of little vignettes all add up to a great, memorable, episode. |

Season 4 is the most brilliant season EVER.
hence my two choices for nomination "Treehouse of Horror III" 405 9F04 Original Airdate: 10/29/92 In this year's scarifying special, the Simpsons gather for a Halloween party and exchange ghost stories. In the first tale, told by Lisa, Homer buys Bart a talking Krusty doll with a few glitches: It tries to kill Homer with a knife and strangle him to death. No one believes that the doll is really trying to kill Homer, but when Marge calls the toy company's customer service numbers, it is revealed that the doll was accidentally set to 'evil' instead of 'good.' In the next story, told by Grandpa, Homer plays King Kong to Marge's Fay Wray. Mr. Burns plays a maniacal millionaire who plunders the jungle in search of mythical giant gorilla. The gorilla falls in love with the millionaire's beautiful assistant and carries her to the top of the Empire State building. After a messy confrontation with the army, the gorilla and the girl get married and live happily ever after. Finally, Bart tells a story in which a spell from a book of witchcraft bring Springfield's dead to life. The only thing that can send them back to their graves is the right spell. "Selma's Choice" 413 9F11 Original Airdate: 1/21/93 Aunt Selma realizes that she might wind up dying all alone and thinks that having a baby can relieve her loneliness. To test her maternal instincts, she takes Bart and Lisa to Duff Gardens, an amusement park, where she realizes that parenthood isn't all it's cracked up to be. At the park, Lisa gets high by drinking the water in the Little Land of Duff ride, and Bart misbehaves in his own unique way. Shaken by the experience, Selma is pleased to have no kids of her own and accepts her life and everyone in it, including Jub Jub, her pet iguana. |

Since my all-time favorite ep has been named, Selma's Choice (Homer and the sandwich is too much
), I'll go with The New Kid on The Block. Classic ep. 1st appearance of the Frying Dutchman and Capt McAllister. Laura Powers was a great character. Too bad she never returened, even though her mom, Ruth has been on a few times. 10 years later, the show has never been back to the level of the 4th season.

Well i used their guide and by chance i had picked my fav on my first try and that is:
"Weekend at Burnsies" 1316 DABF11 Original Airdate: 4/14/02 It just works because its so dead on with the stoners in my area lately (well actually past work place stoners) I love the option for Homer and his medicated Bong and making Flanders so happy to listen to the entire thing of the bible. Homer: "hahaha and Otto spelled backwards is Otto. ahaha" Otto: "Dude your freaking me out" RUNNER UP: "The Strong Arms Of The Ma" 1409 EABF04 Original Airdate: 02/02/03 I thought i was going to piss my pants when Homer goes all tetris with the family and junk they had bought (music and sound effects were also awesome to hear) Then to see Marge lift up the back of the bus as Otto looks behind to say "Dude, what have i been smoking?" and lifts his hand to show his rolled up weed "Oh yeah!"

My favorite:
Summer of 4 Ft. 2 The Simpsons head off to the beach for a weekend. Lisa decides to utilize this time away from her nerdy image to become a new, cooler person. She dumps her nerdy clothes, stops using big words, and pretends to be uninterested in books. She becomes friends with Erin (guest voice Christina Ricci) who is cool, but disaffected. Soon Lisa is popular and Bart is jealous. He plots to undermine her popularity by showing her new friends Lisa's yearbook that outlines all her goody-goody activities. But even as a nerd, Lisa's new friends like her. I mostly love this episode because of the huge ammount of abuse that Milhouse takes. Like when the family is playing Mystery date: Bart: Awww I got the dud. Homer: (points to Milhouse) hey! it looks like you poindexter!

You're all wrong!!!
The greatest Simpsons episode EVER is clearly "Marge vs. The Monorail." Between the song ("The ring came off my pudding can!"), the guest appearance by Leonard Nimoy ("Stop! The world needs laughter!"), and the single greatest Homer quote ever ("I call the big one 'Bitey'"), this is, I believe, their pinnacle.

The Springfield Files
Leonard Nimoy presents the strange tale of Homer Simpson's close encounter with an extraterrestrial being. One night after drinking a few too many at Moe's, Homer sees a bald, glowing, big-eyed creature that tells him not to be afraid. Homer tells everyone that the creature is an alien. Marge and the kids tell Homer that he was drinking too much and that there was no alien. A story in the Springfield Shopper about Homer's close encounter brings FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully to Springfield to investigate. After some routine tests, the agents come up with nothing and leave empty-handed. It's up to Homer and Bart to find proof of the alien's presence themselves. Armed with video footage, Bart and Homer convince the entire town that there is an alien among them. But when everybody turns out to see it, Smithers reveals that the glowing creature is actually Mr. Burns, who is undergoing a series of experimental life-extending medical treatments. Guest Stars: Leonard Nimoy as himself; David Duchovny as Fox Mulder; Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully |

My favorite episode is the one where one day is told from each family member's perspective. That reamins the most quotable episode I have ever seen. I don't know the title, but it's been from the last four years or so.
