How's the film look? After how badly Disney fucked up the Beauty And The Beast and Lion King SE's, I'm very leery about this one. Are the end credits the same? Have they restored the "When they cut off your ear/if they don't like your face" line? Does Jasmine get naked?

Probably the only Disney movie really worth owning for me... Looks great.

I have to ask... Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson? Good lord...

I've always wanted to see that kind of footage on Aladdin.

Thanks a ton for your outstanding effort in this thread - it's appreciated, and it looks like I may approve of this DVD release, after all (I was pretty worried there for awhile...)

I can tell you that during the Maltin preview, they showed Gilbert Godfrey recording for the film. I haven't had much time to go through anything else though, this weekend I plan to watch through everything.

Great job Moonraker.

Just to be clear, the Deleted Scenes CAN'T be seen in the film through branching?

I know on the previous PE dvds, this sort of thing was availible.

Correct, the deleted scenes cannot be watched as part of the movie.

I watched Disc 1 of Aladdin this weekend, and the PQ blew me away. It was breathtaking. The music videos were god awful, the deleted scenes were interesting. Didn't watch the commentary yet, but I watched a bit with the subtitle fun facts.

Under the audio, what is Disney's Enhanced Home Theatre mix? Is better than the other audio options?

Thank you so much for all that information you put up! Great job
That being said....Jessica Simpson and Nick what's his face? Clay Aiken? Again may I say....is nothing freaking sacred? I don't get it, why don't they use the original artists? I freaking am beginning to really dislike Disney...seriously.
I took my son to see this when he was about 2, he is 14 now...and can't stand either Jessica or her hubby. He was PISSED when he found out they were going to have anything to do with this video....
This was one of those movies he watched all the time when he was little. Thanks for screwing another memory up Disney :flush:
That being said, I will still buy it because I love the movie, but needless to say I am a bit annoyed.....

I'd like to know too... I have the Lion King one and it looks and sounds awesome to me. (Unless you mean the new song added, which I don't particularly like or hate).

Anyway, THANK YOU MOONRAKER! You convinced me that this release is well worth the money, and I will be picking it up this Tuesday. Thanks!

Now, I need to read some reviews of Aladdin to see what they pointlessly futzed with this time. "40% of new facial animation!"

Why is it called "2 Disc Special Edition" instead of "Platinum Edition"?

The movie is Aladdin: Special Edition. The DVD is the Platinum Edition of Aladdin: Special Edition. Thats why the box says Platinum and the disc says Special Edition.

Yes their video is on the disc. It is listed on one of the menus on the first page.

Somewhat releated question:

Besides the book, what does the Gift Set come with that the 2-disc does not?

Watched the movie disc tonight, and am pleasantly surprised that none of the purported animation tweaks were of the destructive nature found on the Beauty & The Beast and Lion King discs. The movie looks and sounds fantastic, and I can't wait to start digging into the extras tomorrow. Way to not fuck up, Disney!
