South Park Season 10

Episode 10-01: The Return Of Chef

Quote:
The launch of "South Park’s" 10th season is marked by the triumphant homecoming of school chef, Jerome McElroy. "The Return of Chef!," premieres Wednesday, March 22 at 10:00 p.m., only Comedy Central.

The town is jolted out of a case of the doldrums when Chef suddenly reappears. While Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are thrilled to have their old friend back, they notice that something about chef seems different. When Chef’s strange behavior starts getting him in trouble, the boys pull out all the stops to save him.

Should be interesting, I'll be watching

Sounds like Isaac is voicing Chef.

Man i wish we didn't have to wait a few months to get the new episodes up here in Canada. Lots of people are saying it was pretty damn funny especially if you have been reading up on everything that has happened. Plus they showed what happens in the end to Chef

DARTH CHEF

Yet a great point was made with this action. People are wondering if Isaac eventually decides to forgive and forget he will redeem himself in a future episode just like Darth did in Episode 6 for Luke.

Season 10 is shaping up to be awesome. I can't believe that it is still this good after 10 years. it seems to be a bit heavy on the politcal statement episodes instead of the fun fare that they are well capable of producing

Smug Alert was brilliant and the George Clooney Oscar reference has us all laughing hystarically.

Cartoon Wars - several references to how cartoons are so up their own ass with morals and messages that they have forgotten how to be funny .... hrmmmm, i wonder what show they could be talking about.

Manbearpig - if you arent watching South Park this season, you are super, duper missing out. I am Super-Serial.

and i just caught A Million Little Fibers last night. OMFG. what other show could pull off a still frame of Oprah's crotch for minutes at a time with only the voice of Oprah's Minge(vagina) and Gary(asshole) talking?
and I learned a valuable lesson... never get high and then come up with a story idea.

I think there is only one new episode left until they take their standard 5-6 month break and come back in October. they seem to be on a really good roll, and with it only taking 2 weeks or less to put together an episode, they could crank them out non stop. but they would probably run out of ideas really fast, so a hiatus in the middle of the year could be best for quality over quantity.

Im super-serial ... or is that cereal?

Yes, apparently Trey and Matt could use that advice as well. Worst. Episode. Ever. And not because it was raunchy (that, I can handle), but because it was a pointless episode that pretended to have a message. Was it that Oprah needs to get laid? Is this a new development or something? That, and Towelie is funnier in smaller doses.

But excluding "A Million Little Fibers," and the redundant child molesters club in "The Return of Chef," season 10 has been pretty darn good. I love that South Park remains just as relevant today as it did in its infancy. Although, I still think season 7 was the best so far.

So when it returns in October, is it still Season 10?

Yes. Here is a good explanation of this pattern...

From an IGN interview with Trey and Matt last May (2005):
Quote:
Q: Why do you come out in these weird five and six episode segments and what denotes a season?

STONE: It's just Comedy Central. Now we do seven or eight episodes in the Spring and seven or eight episodes in the Winter. You know, it's been pretty regular for three years and it will be that way for the future. That's just Comedy Central.

PARKER: We used to do runs where it was like a string of four and then five and whatever. Now we have this very structured thing because two years ago we went to Comedy Central and said, 'We need big blocks of time in the summer to go make a movie' because we wanted to make this puppet movie, so we needed a big, huge chunk and now we have that chunk open every year to go make something else if we want. Or to go hang out in Europe and drink.
