Transformers The Movie on DVD... finally!

So for the 20th Anniversary, Transformers The Movie is finally going to get a well deserved proper release on DVD. It's about time if you ask me. I found a trailer on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dU2TiL7Vgs), and it looks like it's going to be a pretty cool set. Anyone else looking forward to this release?

I actually heard rumors that the 20th Anniversary DVD set might include footage of the new movie. But I totally agree with you. The original Transformer movie was an absolute classic. Who knows how the live action version will end up.

Still waiting to hear if the Stan Bush video of The Touch will be on it. No sale for me if it isn't.

Yeah, I hope that video is included too. I think it's one of the most requested features that the fans want included on this set. It definitely wouldn't be the same without it.

They should have the Dirk Diggler version from Boogie Nights on there too!

Just a week left. I can't wait to blast this from the surround sound. Did you see the special features list? Next week is going to be a blast. I wonder what is going to be in the
trailer for the new movie? The Japanese cartoons should be killer too.

I have seen a lot of these offers floating around tonight. I already pre-ordered mine so it isn't an issue. I saw that the trailer for the new movie is going to be a teaser trailer and that we should get our first full look of Optimus in motion. Also the G1 Commercials are the originals from the Japanese series and not the ones for the movie so that will be fun. The youtube stuff is keeping me content for now but, I am ready for Tuesday!

Picked it up after work. This DVD is pretty sweet. I haven't gone through any of the features yet (aside from the split-screen comparison) but the 5.1 is GREAT for pounding out that awesomely shitty 80s rock soundtrack this movie's got.

The DVD case advertises easter eggs on both discs, but I haven't found anything yet. The features are good, save for the lack of participation from the cast. Man, those toy commercials are RIDICULOUS. I can't believe I used to get that excited for those things...

Got mine at walmart last night for ~13

It has a walmart exclusive autobot iron-on transfer in the case and a really nice lenticular on the cover.

The easter egg on the first disc is on the main menu, the autobot symbol.

Gonna pick it up at Circuit City. Supposed to have an exclusive lenticular cover.

Is the remastering a vast improvement over the previous DVD? That last DVD looked pretty good except for being a bit dark. At least Optimus Prime looked red, while in previous VHS and laserdisc versions, he looked orange.

The colors are much better and more consistent throughout the picture. Definately worth the upgrade. CC has a lenticular or an exclusive lenticular? As I said above, Walmart had one as well.

Probably the same lenticular. Just curious, are there subtitles and/or captions on this version? The Rhino version lacked both.

FYI if you take out the dvd artwork out of the case it IS reversable and shows rodimus as the leader, galvatron instead of megatron etc.

I double-dipped on this one, and I'm glad that I did. It's easily one of the best special edition treatments I've seen in a while. The old toy commercials alone were loads of fun.

I'm really enjoying this one, (double dipped to) and it's always fun to hear Rodimus talking about Lookout Mountain, since it's less than a mile from my house.

They should've made the lenticular fit inside of the case.
