Fox & The Hound 25AE-Why the secrecy?

Next to the herbs & spices in KFC & the recipe for Classic Coke there is the mystery no one seems to be able to answer with certitude. What is its OAR? The first release was full screen (& said it was modified). The new one also is full frame only & nobody seems to know if it was shot for tv in the Academy Ratio or WS. Surely somebody at Disney has got to know & it'd be nice if they'd share the info.

The IMDB claims a 1:66 ratio that was cropped to 1:77 for it's theatrical run. Personally, I think the movie looks pretty well-framed in it's 1:33 ratio. I would be nice if Disney could clear this up, though.
