Warner Brothers and the CW Network will release a six-episode animated series based on Smallville and titled Smallville Legends: The Oliver Queen Chronicles.

The six episodes will each be two to four minutes in length.

The series features the same Oliver Queen who recently debuted on Smallville. On the show, Queen went to school with Lex Luthor before becoming Green Arrow and opposing his former classmate. Discovering that Clark Kent has powers, Queen tried to recruit Clark in his quest against Luthor.

The new series will explore the backstory of the same incarnation of Oliver Queen, showing how he became Green Arrow.

Smallville Legends: The Oliver Queen Chronicles will debut tomorrow, Thursday, 18 January, but only on Sprint phones with video service. New episodes will debut every Thursday for six weeks -- after which time (beginning on 22 February), all the episodes will be made available at CWTV.com.
