I don't know what that is. Are you telling me shows like The Simpson's, Family Guy, and older shows like Flintstones, Jetson's & Bugs Bunny can all be on a hi def format? & still have better PQ then they do on SD DVD?

I catch a lot of The Simpsons in HD and it looks way better, with crisper edges and lines. I imagine the Futurama will be similar and have a better depth of field look to it

Just got my copy today. It is widescreen and 5.1 sound. The case is disappointing. It is cheap feeling and basically just a cardboard sleeve with a lenticular front.

No doubt. Don't give me any spoilers. I can wait until Tuesday, but what were your thoughts on the show? As for the case, it doesn't bother me. I keep everything in books anyway. Can't wait.

I watched the movie twice and it was awesome. Loved seeing all those characters again.

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
The movie ends in a giant cliffhanger!

You can thank Al Gore for that. There is a sticker on the back that will lead you to a website where it details how the production of the DVD was green.

I really, really liked it. If you liked the show I don't know how you won't like it. It was all over the place but it still seemed like the series. Watch it and you'll see what I mean. I actually forgot how much I liked the show. Time to dust off the season sets.

It's Fox, so no.

They are supposed to be doing more of these and they are supposed to show up on the Cartoon Network eventually.

I just finished watching this AGAIN tonight. Fucking awesome. I even shed a tear at a couple of spots. The whole story was incredible. I read somewhere that they are expected to make a few more. Fan-freaking-tastic. I hope to God they live up to this one. I plan to watch this again with my mom over Christmas, she's not a huge fan and I'll have to explain a few things. But she'll get the references for the most part. She's a trekkie at heart and will get it.

I've been inspired recently to re-watch the entire run of Futurama by my recent viewing of Bender's Big Score, and one continuity error from the movie bugs me watching these eps now...

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
If Bender put the tattoo of himself featuring the time code on Fry's ass back on December 31st, 1999, why can't we see it during the run of the series? Fry's butt is seen in several episodes, and no tattoo. I realize the writers obviously couldn't have planned that far ahead (even if they did stick Nibbler's shadow on the wall in the pilot), but they could have easilly addressed this plot hole by putting the tattoo on Fry's body in an area where it wouldn't be easilly seen (like, say, the sole of his foot or something). Also, there's clearly not enough room in the freezer tubes for either version of Fry to have hidden somewhere in the back (like when Fry #1 hides in his own tube, and when the older "Lars" Fry hides in his girlfriend's tube).

Yeah, nitpicky as hell, but hey, it's not a time travel story without at least some temporal grousing.

Some room has to be allowed for the fact that this is a comedy show after all, and that some of the continuity has been loose all along. Beyond that, with such a dense universe as Futurama's, continuity issues are bound to creep up. For example, in the pilot, Fry asks Leonard Nimoy to "do the thing" with his hands, and Nimoy says, "I don't do that anymore." But later, when Fry tries to talk to him about the original "Star Trek", Nimoy tries to pretend like he doesn't know what Fry's talking about.

Rumor has it that the next installment will street 3/18/08.

I don't know how accurate that is, because I am also hearing April 08 release.

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a March release. It'd only make sense: first film in November 2007, second in March '08, third around July/August, and the last in November.
