Thanks. The room is only 12' x 12' . It's a shame too, if I had just 3 more feet (behind the couch) I know my picture would look a lot better, not to mention the sound. But hey, it's what I got and I'm still very happy with it. I probably spent more time deciding what color to paint the walls/ceiling/trim than I did on anything else . Anyway, the color (if you're interested) is "Burnt Peanut Red".

Thanks Frank, you just reminded me of that conversation we had on a/v racks in your HT thread. I still can't decide if I want to make a flexy-rack or just buy one. Decisions, decisions...

Sorry for bumping this thread....I was testing the ability to post a pic for another member.

Below is why I won't be adding my planned addition to the house anytime soon for an upgraded HT. Guess I'm stuck with what I have .

Yep, I had one of those 'Tomdkat-Mods' done to it but found that it ran too smoothly....so I said screw that and put a 6Pk cam in it instead. Now it runs with that beautifull sounding "lope". (sorry Tom - couldn't resist )

Sweet sounding Duster (and I'm proud you said 'suregrip' and not 'posi' like those evil Cheby folks use )

Check your PM....

Very nice Iguana

I've been off these boards for awhile & am now just checkin out stuff. Your Ht room, to be honest, is really nicely set-up. I dig the speakers. Just how loud can ya have them running at before the policy come over? Nice ride also btw. Must be like virtual reality playing a car racing game so close to the screen, good stuff!!!!

Nice Iguana, Pittsburgh representin'!

Do you like your B&W's? I am looking to get new speakers and pretty much was set on Axioms, but those B&W surrounds look nice and compact.

Thanks man...I'm actually investigating more ways to blow, uhmmm, I mean "spend" my money (the stuff I don't have!). New PJ is next.

As far as your questions on the men in blue...It's pretty amazing how well the sound stays within the room - or - it may be bad, all I can tell you is, a square room sucks accoustically. To the right of the screen is a window with an a/c unit. Just outside and to the right even further is a 16'X20' deck. When I'm out there with the neighbors and their kids are inside watching a movie....yes...you can hear it. It's the sub you actually hear/feel though...that SPL1200 does wonders!

Playing vid games with the wheel I got is especially cool due to the raised lid of the table and the close proximity to the screen. However, Act Labs still doesn't have a cartridge for their wheel that accomodates the XBox....so my racing days have been limited.

STEELERS!!!!!!! Ok, rant over.....

Well Louie, all I can tell you is I do like them. They are floorstanders that hit 40Hz. A must for me. I like big speakers and that's all there is to it. They do take what you feed them and give you what was there in the recording....so, be careful. Meaning, if the recording sucked, it sounds less than stellar. Few recordings of mine have this, but it is something to consider. Axioms have had wonderful reviews, ask Snipsnap! He's their spokesman on this forum (just kidding Snip!). Plus they have a return policy (30 days I believe).

My advice, go listen to some B&W's in a nice store where they are setup properly...then ask Axiom to send ya a pair of there speakers. You can always return them if they aren't your cup of tea.

EDIT: Sorry..are you talking about the surrounds only? If so, YES. They are absolutely wonderful. The very fact you can angle them to get your surround field just in front and above you is fantastic. They probably match the Axiom sound (from what I've read) pretty well and they are easy (almost too easy) to drive. I lowered their db's to -3 in order to match my mains/center. Plus they come in different colors. Damn near dissapear (which they are supposed to do).

And if you like Jazz... The B&W's are tits....honestly...a good recording and you are in heaven.

That sucks about the wheel not being compatible witht the X-box. WoW, I'm a little surprised that not much of the sound carries out of the room. A nice bonus in any ones HT set-up. Mine unfortunatley does carry sound to one of my neighboors house, but only if he pisses me off.

If you mean in the house, yes, you can hear it in every room. If you are talking outside the house (with the windows in the HT closed), yeah, but nothing to get me in trouble with. The nearest house to that room is my neighbor who is cool - so even if he hears a little bit now and again....it's ok. On the other hand, if the HT windows are open lets just say I'm a bit more courteous with the volume!

This is what I'm thinking of upgrading to: Marantz VP-12S3
