MJZ's HT

I have a 32" Sony flatscreen TV (I can't remember the model)

Sony DVD player DVP-S725D (chipped by place of purchase)

Sony amp STR-DB930

Sony Pascal satellite speakers with sub SA-VE705.

All of that's silver. And I have two black Yamaha subs too.

I've had it all for about four/five years now and it has and still is serving me well.

Once I get some pics I'll post them.

MJ

I've finally got some pictures using my sister's digital camera. The quality isn't brilliant, but good enough to show you my HT.

I'll be posting them in the next couple of weeks so watch this space.

Finally, here they are. I haven't got anywhere I can host them so I'm attaching them to posts.

This one is my TV, DVD player, amp, and Sony Sub (complete with guests, there are more on top of my TV!), oh! and my portable MD player/recorder which I've had for about five years.

This is one of my Yamaha subs and on top of it are my kung fu DVDs, to the right are some of my CDs in a rotating tower and to the left are some more of my CDs. My other Yamaha sub is in a wardrobe to the right of my Sony sub. And that's a new edition of The Lord of the Rings (the single book version) that I got for Christmas because it has the full index and appendices in as my Grandad's '78 print doesn't.

This is my front centre and right speakers, centre is surrounded my series one to eight Friends R2 DVDs (all still shrink wrapped!), to the right of the right speaker is a crate with kung fu VHS in. All the speakers are mounted at virtually the same height around the top of my room and my amp has settings to customise the sound as best as possible for different speaker heights. My TV is below the centre speaker, just out of shot.

This is my rear left speaker that has my collection of Bruce Lee, kung fu, and some sports books next to it. As you can see there are some Bruce Lee posters and some Blu Tak with nothing attached to them, those two empty places to the left are normally occupied with Bruce Lee black and white prints, but they keep falling down and I've not put them back up. Below the black Bruce Lee poster, just out of shot, is a Pulp Fiction black and white print of Jules and Vincent pointing their guns toward the camera.

This is my cable box (digital), video player, Xbox, MDs, and that black thing at the bottom is an Aiwa tape player. That's my TV to the right and my bedroom door is to the left. The red light is from one of our Christmas light sets in the hallway over the living room door (I live in a bungalow).

Now on to my collection. These are on top of a wardrobe to the right of the right speaker (that's the kung fu VHS crate to the left). The leg (if you can make it out) to the left of BoB tin (R1) is from a Bruce Lee statue that I got as a gift. You can see the EEs of FotR and TTT (both R1), then a big RS3 box that contained the game and headset then my Xbox games. On top are the slip covers from some of my DVDs, I've removed them so they don't get damaged when the DVDs are handled and I've not put them away yet. Behind my Xbox games are the Collector's boxes for FotR and TTT with book ends and Gollum statue never removed, and the R2 Hulk 3 disc plastic case is there too.

These are my R1 DVDs, a few others are scattered around where I can fit them, to the left is that rotating CD tower again, and to the right is my bed. My window is above just out of shot.

And finally here are my R2 DVDs that I keep in a drawer under my bed. To the top of the picture, just out of shot, are my R1 DVDs and you can see the CD tower. There is another draw under my bed that is in the position where I'm standing and that contains my NBA VHS, some VHS films I've yet to replace on DVD, comedy VHS - Billy Connolly, The Fast Show, and all Eddie Izzard's shows on VHS and DVD. There are also some basketball DVDs in there too.

And there you have it. I'm always adding to the DVD and CD collections.

I'm considering upgrading to a new amp that caters for 6.1 or better and then buying an extra speaker. I want to buy a new portable MD too, probably a Net MD with LP feature. I probably will eventually.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my room.

Glad, to see another fellow Bruce Lee/Kung-Fu fan among the File. You've got a great looking setup and some very nice posters.

Thanks for sharing.

Some components have now changed and some things have been moved.

New additions:
  • Xbox 360
  • Samsung DVD-HD850
  • Samsung LE32R41BD LCD IDTV
Moved:
  • NTSC DVDs to wall shelves

The Sony sub is still next to the TV stand, but is hidden by Steel Battalion.
