Best Home Theater Ever!!!!!!

Ok, so its not the best ever. I need help from you home theater geniuses. I know nothing about receivers, speakers, etc..

This is what I have at the moment but am looking to definitely upgrade.

TV: 21" Samsung TV
Receiver: Aiwa CX-NA777 Stereo
Surround Speakers: Two KLH speakers in the back (I just split the speaker wire cause the surround jacks are broken on the receiver for some reason) so the sound isn't that great)
DVD Player: PS2 and Norcent DP300 (Region Free!)

Help me!! I'm piss poor so it needs to be on a tight budget, thanks!

A cool new speaker set up from www.hsuresearch.com is coming at the end of the month. If you can afford more than Home theater in a box, this may be an excellent step up for you.

http://hsuresearch.com/forum/calenda...nfo&eventid=11

I believe it runs for aroun $260. An excellent deal for a higher end satelite system.

Well tell us what you Budget wise and maybe we can start from there. If you have the money i think its better to get everything seperately. But if money is short then a HTiB is always nice start

I want to buy everything individually, starting with the receiver.

I'm in college so I dont have a huge income but I want to get the best or near best of everything so screw the budget it will just take me longer to get it, but thats fine.

thanks doubledown.

What are the best brands on speakers? I'v heard that Polk is real good.

Likewise, what about the brands of receivers? any preferences?

Also, is there a site that explains all the features for receivers, speakers, tv's, etc.???

Well for receivers i will mention the one i have and that's the Marantz SR4300. IT has the DD-EX, DTS-ES(Discrete) and PLII. (specs in the link) I got it about a year ago and i guess they might be onto a newer model by now. So you might be able to find it at a good price somewhere. Can't beat it for all the stuff it offers you ($690 with tax in Cnd for my purchase. Just released when i got it)

I also hear that Yamaha receivers aren't too bad either and i have noticed they introduced some new models recently with the options like the above Marantz. They run at a cheaper price now then when i bought my Marantz.

Here's a pic of the Yamaha HTR5640B ($500 + tax Cnd)

Not too bad of a deal.

As for a Sub i will recommend my Velodyne CHT-8 (or any Velodyne product but the 8" inch out performes the 10" inch in many comparisons)

Speaker wise i'm wtill using some old RCA HTiB speakers. But so have some Mission Speakers for my main L&R speakers. (product of Denon which is another good name in Receivers but don't know price wise)

From your pics I noticed you have two left rear speakers. If you move one to the right side you'll immediately notice much better seperation.

I also am in college (only 22) and have built myself a pretty nice theater. And I have done this through the magic of the internet buying one component at a time.

The internet has truly changed the home theater industry for most budget minded consumers. As in, are not filthy rich and like to build their theaters themselves and not just pay someone to put the best stuff in their room.

For speakers, these are what most people (including myself) on the net think have the best sound, looks, customer service and just all around value:

www.axiomaudio.com
www.rocketloudspeakers.com

For Subwoofers:

www.hsuresearch.com
www.svsubwoofers.com

For Recievers:

www.outlawaudio.com
But also check out at your local store:
Denon
Pioneer Elite
Marantz
Yamaha

There are plenty of other great companies out there. But I can say with pretty good accuracy that these represent the best values that can be found for their price and often much more than their cost. I would heartily recommend checking out these siites before you go to your local store to make any purchases.

Happy Hunting!

Oh My God!

The doors slide open when you wave your hand across them.

And the frozen Han Solo is pretty damn cool too.

I am sure this guy has enough money to tell Lucas to release the riginal trilogy on DVD!

Hey dear now a days there are so many systems available in market with different brands and price difference. First of all just set up your budget and then find the equipment as per ur need. And do not forget to check the previous version's performance of that equipment it will help u to take decision and still if u have any doubt then u can ask me here.
