Here are some picks of my HT. I still need to put up some pictures on the walls and clean up the odd bit of wiring but this is the general idea of it.
It is a 7.1 set up in a dedicated room. In a few years it will be upgraded to a front projector. Lights are on in the photos but are always off for viewing. I use a backlight behind the TV, the rest of the room is black, even the window is blacked out..

Picture 1 is my Toshiba 51H83, with Athena AS-B2 fronts (stands are home made), AS-C1 center and a Velodyne CHT 10 subwoofer

Picture 2 is an Athena AS-R1 bi-pole surround speaker, I have one mounted on each side wall, approx 6 feet high

Picture 3 is Athena AS-B1 speaker, I use 2 of them for rear speakers

Picture 4 is my component rack. The reciever is a Yamaha RX-V1400, Panasonic DVD, JVC CD, Bell express-vu 3100 satalite reciever an X-box and a gamecube. SPeaker wire is 12 gauge and all connections are either component or s-video.

Picture 5 is my DVD, games and CD collection. Not the biggest, but always growing.

Picture 6 is where I park my lazy arse as often as possible.

One concern though, looking at your components in that pic, is there any room inbetween them, or are they stacked upon one another? Maybe its just the angle of the pic, but I can't see any space between them.

Pirate hunter - its actually a wireless x-box controller. The N64 is in a box in my storage room.

Reese - very comfy, it reclines almost flat and has a solid leg rest. Darn couch cost more than the TV

Derb - its just the angle of the pic. Many of my componest have side vents, so some of them are indeed stacked. The reciever has 5 inches above it. I also have a small fan that blows on the whole rig from the back. It usually stays very cool.

I love the AThena's, they roast the Polk's I had.
Added a new toy a few weeks back, a new PVR sattalite reciever.
Man are these things great.

Also added a new shelf to the DVD rack.

Good for you man, and I'll 2nd Reid on the marble table. Now the dumb question on my part...what is PVR? Do you mean DVR? Like Digital video recorder?

I also like the fact you got much further with your A/V rack than I did. I built one that looked like el' crappo! Your's on the other hand..looks nice, and even more, you made it upgradable!

The lamp actually broke, I pulled the chain right out of it.
Best lamp shade ever however.

The table isnt marble, its a coffee table I bought at a garage sale for $7. I painted it with a marbleizing kit.

Yep....I thought you meant A/V rack, then realized you meant your DVD rack. Nice job on the speaker stands too!

Here are some updated photos

added - new equipment racks on either side of TV, both sides are home made using the same material as the speaker stands

also added some home made acoustic treatments at first reflection points and behind speakers, they have done wonders for overall sound.

Sub has been moved to other side of room with better results.

Next project I am working on is bass traps for all the corners.

All veiwing is done with no lights on, with the exception of an Ideal Lumme back light.

While I'm not overly fond of the color schemes, I am very fond of the package as a whole. Very nice indeed!

Can you describe the effects that the acoustic treatment panels have had in your system? I'm very interested in this.

What wrong with the color scheme?

Actually I wanted something very neutral as neutral colors don't affect color perception of the TV's image. Grey would have been better yet, but it would have looked like shit.

The sound panels did a lot more than I expected, even my wife noticed a differance in sound.
They really absorb a lot of refected sound, which resulted in a lot better imaging. Watching movies, the clarity in overall sound direction was very noticable. They also toned down the highs a fair bit.
They are easy to make as well, all 5 panels cost me less than $100.

I used dense fiberglass ceiling tiles. Peeled the facing off them, made a frame and stacked them 2 deep in the frame. Then covered them in acousticslly transparent cloth. I actually have about 7 photos of the whole process if you are interested.

Like I said bass traps are next.

Cool! Can't wait to see the new pics. Oh, please don't take me wrong on the color scheme comment...I guess the wall color is what I'm not fond of, but it's probably pretty nice since pics on the net tend to screw me up sometimes. One dude's ceiling was blue, and I thought it was black!

Well there she is.

The screen is a DIY 92 inch, colors are based on an old theater I use to go to as a kid.
The screen shots dont do this any justice at all.
Let me know what you think.
