![]() EDITED: GOOD GOD MAN! Those Snells (XA90PS) look fantastic! Are the ports for the subs in the back or front? Haven't read much on them, so give all the details you can muster....feel free to respond before you post pics, but get them picks up soon! Last edited by Iguana Man : 11-18-2004 at 10:05 PM. |

Pardon the Long delays on the response,
I HIGHLY reccommend the 90s, the system, flat out ROCKS!. I worked for an AV DEALER for a portion of time, traded out the work I to get the 90s, I have yet to hear anything comparable There are 4 ports on the speakers, just above the rear tweeter, all 4 of which are slightly flared Setup involves an ir remote, control cable that runs betwen the speakers(to send ir commands), and adjustable bass / levels, treble boost / cut and 2 EQ curves. The Back plate also contains a single band parametric EQ , Switches for the rear tweeter, Boundary compensation. I use mine with boundary compensation on, treble set to boost and the rear tweeter on. I am getting flat response down to 20 hz, and rolll off quickly below that, so I am looking @ subwoofer options, (for the subsonics) I do want to get rid of mm-9000, and look @ monoblocks as a potential option, I am not sure which way 2 go as of yet) I am also looking @ the Crestron option, as the system is semi complex to operate, and a pro2 with an stx1700c would make things MUCH easier to use(2-3 hours programming time) I will post a new pic later on this aftnoon, (I am on a different pc) |

Looks nice Bolt..., got anymore pics though? It's like you've thrown a bone and we want some meat!
Tell me something, have you compared the Snells to say B&W's? Just curious to know how the upper freq's compare. Some reviews call the Snells a bit bright, but so do several B&W reviews. I personally have grown to like the B&W sound for their great mids and have adjusted to their supposed brightness. Also, having the Snells so close to the corners, rear and side walls, are the normal problems introduced by that kind of placement tamed by their design? Again, it looks really nice. |

Snells
Although we didnt direct A/B them, more than one person at the shop I worked at prefered them to the b&w sig800,(and those were on mc501 monos)
The Speakers have adjustable crossovers, Bass loading options, so placment isn't really an issue aside from the 4 rear ports / rear tweeter per speaker, as well as the parametric EQing and remote control features. I do need to get rid of the mm9000(definitely not enough power), will end up keeping my DC1 for awhile, still looking for amp suggestions. I will post more pics tomorrow |
