chwhale's home theater

Hey folks! I'm a newbie to this forum. I thought that I'd throw up some pics of my theater as well.

I did mine on a budget. The room measures 13 x 20. It is in my basement.

The screen works out to be 106 inches (if my math is correct). The projector is a dell...3300 (I believe). I'm using a mix of components for the hardware. If anyone has any questions, feel free to fire away.

BTW, sorry for zipping each picture up individually. I couldn't seem to make the requirements for uploading. I reduced the picture quality, the size, and still couldn't get it to like it. So... I zipped them each up. Sorry.

Thanks! They were $15 a piece at Sutherlands. I just painted them purple. I've put six of them up and hooked them all up to a dimmer switch. It really does work well for mood lighting too.

Did you have to wire them into the wall? I just put material on my walls for sound and it'd be kinda hard to wire something in at this point, but I've always wanted something like that.

PH,

Yeah, I wired them into the wall. Fortunately for me, the finished walls end at the drop ceiling, so I was able just to string the wire along the top of the drop ceiling. Then, I just strung it over to the back wall and wired it into the switch.

I need to do some sound dampening stuff like you are talking about.

DVD Player

I use a Sony....somethingorother. lol. I took these pics before I got it. I made sure that the Sony had outputs for component video as well as an optical output. I also wanted it to be able to play +R DVD's. It works out great.

I can't believe I missed this thread....shame on me.

I like it man!

Now my question: Did you have to mess with the Keystone adjustment? I ask because it appears from the pic that your pj is aiming downwards towards the screen.
