I was going to get that color, but unforuntately... my couch is black and the TV is somewhat silver, and not to mention the receiver is black too. So I ordered all black. I can probably take it back if it doesn't match well or something in that nature.

1. Go here: http://photobucket.com/
2. Open up a free account.
3. Upload your pictures.
4. Copy the code (they will provide it) with the [ img ] tags.
5. Paste into a reply here.

Done.

Easy.

The only problem with the free account is that they limit the size of the pictures you can upload. If they are too large they will resize them.

With TV stand, i bought it last year for $3500. It was pretty sweet deal when I pick it up at magnolia-hifi. The stand was $500 itself. TV is $3000.

Looking forward to more pics...

That's kinda what I thought too...except me being the 'anal' one, I'm concerned about the heat from that spiffy fireplace and it's effects on the varnish. Do you use the fireplace much? It looks like you do.

I think the Video Silver would look good up front...did I say that already?

Well, the fireplace isn't used much because there's a kid running around the house (soon to be two). So it's just for show .

It's kinda late to ask for silver since it's already been ordered. I think I might be able to exchange if the color doesn't quite fit. We'll see. In addition, I still have to run wires underground and some speaker inserts wall plate (is that proper terminology? ) Future upgrades would be an external amp and better DVD player.

Well at least the speaker cones are high enough (for now) so those rug rats cant go pushing them in.....I had the grills off one time and my girlfriends kid decided to push in on each cones center of two newly purchased 3-way speakers!

Man, how I can relate to that?!? I had a pair of Mackie HR824 studio monitor speaker.. and they're sitting on a 24" stands. My little 2 years old girl would religiously poke the speaker cones 'till I did the old school disciplinary style. She still does it from time to time, but it's not bad enough to the point where I can't pull the cone out. Once I had these home theater speakers installed, those HR824 is going into my bedroom and nobody's going to be able to touch them .

As a home theater speakers, they sound amazing. I was watching Starwars Eps. 1 and during the pod race scene, it sounds enveloping and full... I don't experience any ear-shattering while turing the volume at supposed ear-shattering level. The center channel can deliver a clear dialogue during a busy scene with lot of action. While watching at night, I don't have to turn it up very loud to hear the dialogue and for that.. I was quite pleased.

The sub is a bit small (8-inch active), but it's never muffled or muddy where there's explosion or deep thunderous action. Of course it cannot compare to my previous Velodyne SPL-1200 Series II, but for the price and its foot print (about 6 inches wide and 14 inches or so deep), it's amazing. I'd probably add another sub in the near future .. but I have to let the Missus synched in first with this purchase.

I usually don't listen to CD in Dolby surround or any of the mode (hall/jazz/etc), but this speakers let me experience the music in a nice enveloping surround sound. The rear channel sounds nice and rich while center and two front just humming the tune. Two channel stereo mode doesn't sound as full and effortless like my reference Mackie HR-824, but it's doing pretty good.

Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. When I set out to get a home theater speakers, there're few constraint. First is budget, second is WAF (Wife acceptance factor), and finally it's the sound quality of the speaker. I audition the Definitive Mythos Five (http://www.definitivetech.com/loudsp...hos_tower.html) at local Magnolia Hifi and wasn't very impressed. I also looked at Energy FPS and it too wasn't as good as for the price they charged. Then a friend of my whom worked for a custom home theater installation recommended Monitor Audio speaker. He said I could return it if I'm not satisfied and he was raving about how good it sounds. So, it was pretty much a blind buy and it was better than I expected.

When I got the speakers, it took me and another guy 4 hours to run the wires and setup. All using THX certified speaker cable, and monster cable for interconnectivity. The DVD has and DVI output to the TV, and coaxial to the Sony DA7ES receiver. The receiver is rated at 150watts x 7.

Few things that'll coming down the pike in the future:
1. Another Sub
2. Another speaker to complete the 6.1 System
3. Rotel RMB-1095 Five channels Power amp and (maybe) Rotel RB-1080 two channels power amp.

Hah.. that was a speedy reply as well.

I'll post a few more pix once I have the chance. Just all my wiring and stuffs.

The next mission is to have a sit down and do a LOTR extended edition marathon (some 13 hours plus of pure entertainment). Just think about it makes me dizzy!

Nice Ht, no doubt it probably kick ass in the sound department! How about the picture quality with the HD-Samsung dvd player. Is there a huge difference in video quality?

The DVD player is capable of up-scale the source to 720p/1080i, and it does make a big difference. The opening scene in Finding Nemo where Marlin and Coral are talking about how they got all the big space and big space ocean, I switch back and forth between 480p and 720p and I notice that most of the noise present in 480p are gone. It looks smoother and more 3D looking. Now, my DVD player isn't equip with Farouja chipset or anything and I can see the difference... imagine a player that got the Farouja chipset and upscale the DVD to 720p or 1080i (it's as close as HD as I can get).

My TV is native 720p so naturally when watching movie, I upscale it to 720p. It always help if the source is high bitrate (like those of superbit or where movie is the only thing on the DVD such as the matrix, etc).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm really considering upgrading to one of these players, They are only $200 cdn where I live & include a DVI cable. I still need to see more of this player in action, especially toggling between 480p & 720p before I comit.

If you are looking for a great DVD player, try a Panasonic S97, future shop is clearing them out. I tried all three, the Tosh (cant remember the number) the Samsung you mention and the Panny blew them all away in picture quality.
