jmoney's new TV

Well, it's finally happened...

I haved moved into the realm of HDTV.

Over the past few months, I've replaced my very first HTiB with some polk R series speakers and a Onkyo 602 receiver. I wasn't expecting to be able to get an HD until after I graduate. Lucky for me the Sony KD-34XBR960N is being discontinued. So it was now or never...

Congrats dude!

What did you do with the wooden Entertainment Center? More importantly, how do you like HD?

The wooden entertainment center got curbed last night. We just didn't have any place to store it. Somebody snagged it before this morning. So I guess we donated it to some needy (probably) college student in the area.

HD is the sweetest. I haven't watched Knight Rider in like 20 years -- so getting to watch it in HD was super sweet. I also find myself watching alot of the Discovery channel -- they seem to have one of the best HD feeds. We only pay for basic basic cable (like $7 a month), so it's kinda cool to pick up some of the unencrypted digital channels from the QAM tuner.

My only complaint is on the video game front. Jaggies are much more apparent now. I guess I'll have to get a 360...

QAM?

You now see the quandary inherent of going this route. Garbage in is exemplified. However, I personally feel it's worth it.
