Nice speakers and TV, but am I seeing what I think I'm seeing in the 1st and 3rd pics? Is that your bed (green covered thing)? If so, sweet jumping you know who dude! It's 'tight' in there!
Hows it sound? And where are your tube amps to go with that turntable? ![]() |

zepplongfellow: whats funny is that i was going to mention that this was my stripped down setup. i have an MD deck and proper CD player that isn't connected... a friend of mine has my third turntable which I said he could use until i had more space!
Iguana Man: ha! i'd like to see those hold up on the road! actually, that Allen & Heath mixer is another recent addition, replacing a Vestax PCV-150 mixer. just a "slight" step up (: oh yes... calibration with digital video essentials... just finished about a minute ago! |

That TV looks great!
If you can, post pics of it in action. ![]() Quote:
![]() I used to spin records, back in the day. Not a mixmaster or anything but used to make mix tapes for fun. I even DJ'd a few keggers. ![]() My friend had 1200s and did something neat. He took some center discs used for 45s and taped them together in a stack. Then he would put the stack on a turntable and put a 12" single on top, upside down. He turned the needle over and would play the record. It was neat since one record would be elevated while the other wasn't. ![]() Peace...

the cost of the 1200s have almost cut in half. i considered the vestax PDX-2000 and numark TT-X at the time of purchase but glad i didn't bother. numark?! what the @#$#$@ was i thinkin??? the only 19" rackmount mixers (needed for the road...) i came across was that vestax i had (err, still have) and a Rane MP44. i borrowed an MP44, but there's no way i could have dropped for it at the time... fast forward a few years and i considered that Rane mixer again! ...eventually, i decided on an Allen & Heath XONE:62 -- a club standard. so, i got a XONE:92 -- bedroom overkill. ![]() |

speakers: at the time of purchase, i was considering some different setups. first: an all paradigm cc setup. i had the one centre as a rear channel, so thought i'd try that... i was really impressed with em for a theatre setup, but for music it didn't do anything for me. cold. next up mission m33i's (i believe) and some boston things that were out of my price range ![]() so guess what was ruled out? but i got to a place with the m33i and m34i's next to each other and the m33i's just sounded flat... i really listen to a wide range of music and i think the m34i's are just "fitting". good bass responce and a really natural midrange... panel: i should have mentioned earlier that i had an HP 4260N for about three days too. i have to admit that i liked the UI and remote on that than the panasonic, but i had a problem with outputting a signal anamorphically... just scrambled... anyways, got into a fight with best buy and in the end just figured it might be better in the long run to stick with someone whos been in the game a bit longer. the 4200N was a Panasonic panel, but the 4260N is actually from LG... who knows what support HP will give down the road... between the two, i'm glad i went with the Panasonic panel. i think the 4260 was a bit dark... |

Update!
some slight changes... the cambridge soundworks 4.1 speaker setup i had on the pc was dying (amp in the sub..?). those were replaced with a set of harman/kardon soundsticks ii (2.1). they sound alright, but they're pretty directional... alright for a computer i guess... on the video side, i tried an ATI card, but it didn't do cloning, so i switched an nVidia thing... so, my computer is now my PAL player... hurray!

Blu-Ray Disc.
I thought I would wait out the format war. However, a friend of mine called and said he had a Playstation 3. I said I'd take it — impulse Blu-Ray Player for me! I have to admit that I'm not a gamer. In fact, I went out looking for Sonic and Gran Turismo that night
I did end up with Corpse Bride and was just mind-fucked. The in-store displays don't do the format justice... I'll give it a week or so before I give it my review, but so far I'm pretty impressed with the unit (I've also picked up Kingdom of Heaven since)... |
