Moved some stuff around and figured I'd post some more "personal" shots...

Case of Spaghetti cable...

"Reserve" cables...

Also I have a pair of these coming:

Acoustic Research Master Series MS230

I've always liked AR cables and I figured I might as well try more of their MS line-up, see how they compare to my BJCs.

It's like night and day difference between your camera shots. Also, it's great to see the ps3 right there on top, where it belongs.

"So, what can we do to make sure our system is always visible in store or in their houses?.
Well, lets just round the top so you can't put everything on top of it.
Great idea. Build it!"

I threw caution to the wind and ordered the Onkyo TX-SR805, $653 shipped was too hard to pass up.

(6th Avenue = $694 + Coupon code: "couponcabin" for 6% off = $653 + free DHL Ground = )

I knew I said I'd wait for the next Outlaw Audio pre-amp, but I figured the least it would be is $1,000+/- and probably not be substantially better than the 805 at $650. Plus I'm tired of waiting and I want my next gen audio now, dammit!

Also grabbed three color-coded 1.5ft HDMI cables from Monoprice for $17.

Wow! I'm not sure I'm into the silver look, and I know that's all personal stuff but I'll be damned if SS don't approve!

Nice. I am with Iggy, not to in to the silver, but I know Onkyo has a habit of discounting its silver units more then its blacks. Great price too. I hope you have been enjoying next gen audio for the last few days?

Unfortunately the units are on backorder at 6th Avenue. My order is in, but I'm still waiting. Though I'm watching other e-tailers to see if the price is beaten or gets close, if so, I'll cancel and re-order with another seller to get it faster. Strangely, the prices on both the black and silver have stabilized at around $700-800 at most places recently after being in flux for the past several weeks.

Eventually though...

Trying artistic angles...

I don't care what anyone says, silver is the best color for this AVR.

Nice, I paid about the same for a 604.

The one without any advanced codecs.

Nothing wrong with Silver. In fact the artistic design of any component is more revealing, that & an absent of your theater looking dusty.

Mmm, you know I bet if all components were silver, anybodies HT would look 10 times more rich.

Anyways kudos on the new gem.

btw,

PS3 BD display on the unit????

The inputs are renameable with capital letters, lower case letters, and/or symbols. I now just have the first four inputs named "BD, HD DVD, DVD, LD"

The picture quality of cable looks better to boot!

Hey, Sehnzeleid, how do you like your Hsu sub? I'm thinking about getting the VTS-2 MK 3.

I like it quite a bit, it's very musical with CDs/SACDs/DVD-As and always delivers a lively performance with good movie material, the TrueHD track on Nine Inch Nail's BYiT HD DVD really shows off its ability.

The only thing I'd advise is not to get the basic matte black finish, it scratches extremely easily.
