I wish it did 1080P but the budget wasn't big enough. Tomorrow I will call about HD Cable.

Screenshots

They look like crap but it was because the camera was not on the tripod real good. I may keep trying. Also sorry they are so small. I forgot to decrease the resolution of them. I guess with decreased resolution I could of sized them larger. Oh well.

Thanks guys I am off to get the new HD Cable box. Everything is supposed to be ready.

Well I got home and hooked it up and went through the channels I try cnanging all the aspect rations to 16 by 9 for the cable box signal and it only displays 4 by 3 on every setting. If I switch the tv to 4by 3 I get two sets of pillar boxes. I called Suddenlink and they said to turn the box off and hold down two buttons and the HD setup guide would come up it didn't. The record feature doesn't work either. They told me to take it back to their office here but they are closed. The front of the box is lit up saying 1080i but that is on Standard cable. So I guess I will take it back tomorrow.

Oh yes please tell me I am going to be able to get rid of the pillar boxes. The wife won't like those.

The box is a Scientific Atlanta and I hooked it up with component cables.

Once you get your cable box snafu worked out I look forward to your impressions of HD!

Great setup, and yes...those pics could have been bigger!

(bigger since I need glasses and procrastinate)

Tomorrow I will exchange the box. So with luck I will get to see HD by about 5pm.

I may retake some of the pics. I am thinking about decreasing the resolution on the camera because right now it is on the highest setting. Maybe then I can make them larger. With these at 800 by roughly 600 I was over the size limit.

Got it fixed Iggy and the HD looks good to me and it even impresses the wife and that is something. Now if I only had more channels and a unified next gen format.

Oh and by the way I find HD more addictive!

I just hooked up a 52 inch Mits at my neighbors. If he only understood the true meaning of HD (he has regular cable and Direct TV, ancient dvd player and an A/V receiver just begging to be replaced.

Oh Psycho thanks for the help.
